This place used to be “the place” in Korean town. However, I went there last week and was disappointed. Food is horrible. It tastes bland. We got kimchi pancakes, soft tofu soup, and hot bibimbap. Kimchi pancakes were the worst. Please don’t go here, it's a waste of your time and money.

I came to this place 5 years ago and loved it. This time I came again during my visit to NY. Huge disappointment, and I left without eating much of my food. I should have gone to some other restaurant in Koreatown.

I have been to five senses more than any other restaurant in NYC and have brought countless friends and family here over the years. I’ve been coming here since they opened in 2015.
But lately since early 2025 the quality just isn’t the same. I miss their simple menu. The kimchi fried rice with cheese and the seafood pancake are still pretty good, but dishes like the galbi jim and the seafood tteokbokki don’t have the standout flavor they used to. It also doesn’t feel as consistent as before.

I miss their dishes in general, especially miss the galbi jim served bubbling in a stone pot with glass noodles, the tofu and spicy pork, the food overall used to be unforgettable. Now it feels overpriced. I wish the old Five Senses could make a comeback.

I was honestly surprised by the ratings for this place... I came on a Friday night and it wasn’t too busy. First time here and it was a really solid experience.

Seafood Pancake: Great pick. Crispy on the outside and packed with seafood inside.

Beef Belly & Mala Cream Noodle Soup: Loved this one. Udon with tender beef and baby octopus… so good!!!

Spicy Braised Pork Rib Stew: Rich, comforting, and full of flavor.

The highlight for me was the raw marinated crab. I spotted it on the wall menu and immediately had to order it. It’s rare to find in the city! And honestly, this was way better than BCD’s. So flavorful.

Only complaint… the banchan portions are small and not a lot of variety. Other than that, I really enjoyed my meal and I’d definitely recommend this spot.

Typical Korean restaurant. Nothing outstanding and a bit bland. Service was fast. Noted that they charge a fee when you use credit card which I did not notice being posted in the store.

One of the better Korean spots in Ktown. BCD done the block is overrated IMHO (long lines for run of the mill Korea food). The beef short rib soup always tastes authentic and home made flavor here. Chicken wings are decent. The seafood noodle soup okay too. But the de facto must try is the GalbiTang (beef short rib) soup! Their ban chan offerings are on the smaller side tho.

Amazing food, large portions, beautiful atmosphere, great/polite service. Food was all cooked properly and very well. All spicy meals had a good kick but not enough to make you not enjoy the food. 100/10 would recommend

My friends and I arrived near 8:10 PM after a 20-minute wait, and we were still seated. However, we weren’t informed that many menu items were unavailable until we attempted to place our order. At that point, the explanation was unclear, and it was only then that we were told we could only order appetizers, noodles, and fried rice. Additionally, despite staff beginning to clean up, no one checked in on us during our meal-plates piled up, and our water was never refilled. Based on the service, I wouldn’t have tipped even 15%, but a 20% gratuity was already included in the bill.

I had the dolsut bibimbap with beef and the sweet and spicy popcorn chicken. absolutely amazing! only problem was our order was about 30-40 minutes late, but the waiter was wonderful and comped my entree! overall great service experience!

Came here because BCD tofu line was too long. We ordered a noodle dish and one kimchi stew. My friend said that the dish was a 5/10 and my kimchi stew was like a 6 out of 10. I thought it was very weird that they bought one dish out and made me wait like 30min for me to get my food. It was kind of awkward since we weren’t sharing. So my friend was eating and I was just there waiting for 30min lol

I came here with my parents after being ignored at BCD Tofu House and everyone was really nice and welcoming. The food was great, big portion sizes and fairly priced. Will definitely come back!

Medium Korean food, that's it. Wouldn't be an issue if it came with that price but it's quite expensive, even considering that everything in ktown is expensive. Not bad, but also not good
