Tried classic and Parma mussels , both good but Parma has tick delicious sauce with great balance in tastes. Kale salad with shrimp was also good. Sitting areas are a bit hard to move around, specially outside sitting which is narrow and usually for smaller groups of 2 people.

came here on a friday night with a group of 6 - reservation was made ahead of time. the aesthetic was very seaside / seashore which i loved. the food was absolutely delicious. highly recommend getting the orange wine! the mussels were a hit - the thai probably being the best. we also had the mini donuts for desert with an absolutely necessary espresso martini. great spot!

Food is spectacular, highly recommend the Thai mussels and the whipped ricotta appetizer! We also had the scampi mussels that was good and the kale salad that was just fine but not worth the price. Service is kind but the place acoustic is terrible so it gets super loud.Vegetarian options: Salad, burrata, whipped ricotta

Amazing happy hour deals and a consistently good mussels restaurant! The food and service are all amazing. The mussels are my favorite with such nice, classic flavors. I highly recommend the funghi mussels with bacon cream sauce that come with bread, the truffle fries, and the truffle ricotta toast! (can you tell i love truffle haha). The mocktails were also surprisingly great. Great ambiance and definitely recommend!

Wonderful dinner at Flex Mussels. They informed me that the place is closing down and will reopen as an Italian seafood restaurant. I will miss Flex Mussels, but look forward to trying the new concept.

It's been 10+ years since I've dined here and I'm thrilled to report that their quality is STILL top notch. I ordered the Thai mussel pot, we had the burnt fingers, truffle fries and had to cap it off with doughnuts. Service is still impeccable and if it's nice enough outside? Definitely consider dining al fresco. Kudos to the chef and the staff for maintaining their high quality standards!

Oh my gosh! Flex muscles was so good! I visited on my last night in New York City per recommendation of a friend who lives in the city. I was staying in Chelsea so this location was a short ride from my hotel. I went to the solo diner fairly close to closing and everybody was so polite and nice about the whole thing. It was very quiet on a Sunday night.I tried a little bit of everything I did the parmesan mussels and they were so delicious that I wanted to stop up all the juice that I could with the bread. I also started with some oysters just knowing that they are so fresh at flex.I got whatever drink was reminiscent of an old fashioned and it was nice and strong. Since I don't make it to New York City as often as I'd like I of course also had to indulge in dessert which the waiter recommended. I ordered the donuts I got a chocolate, salted caramel, and strawberry elderflower. My friend said her favorite is the fluffernutter but I'm not much of a marshmallow person so I passed on that. I left so completely stuffed and I was one of the last people still in the restaurant and the service did not disappoint. Overall I highly recommend it it's a nice quiet little place to hang out for the evening!

This place is always a hit! I have a friend who insists on going for HH every time she's in town. The lobster and fries is a great deal ($30) and sooo good. I'm a fan of the happy hour oysters and the whipped ricotta. And of course the mussels hit the spot. The burnt fingers ($20) is a huge serving that could easily be an app for 4+ people. The HH spritz sneaks up on you and the bourbon drink is very strong (HH drinks are $13 each). Service is awesome and ambiance is buzzing but not too too loud. I'll be back for a third go round soon!

We’ve only been to the Happy hour area for a few times. Love the oysters. They are clean and fresh! I kept forgetting the pictures. The HH place is quite tiny so you will need to come just exactly at 5pm to get a table. Good service! It’s a bit more expensive for a HH place. It would cost you easily $100 each if you have a bottle of wine for two and a cocktail each at the beginning of the meal:-)

Can't go wrong with the flex mussels happy hour! Staff are really accommodating and the food is top notch. Really enjoyed the fungi mussels which had a creamy bacon and mushroom sauce with fresh rosemary and plenty of hardy bread to mop it all up. Dine from 5-7pm to get great deals. Otherwise the regular menu is pretty extensive and delicious. Location wonderful too.

This place was 5/5!!! I recommend you to come during happy hour (5-7pm every day)I enjoyed everything we ordered - between two small women we finished hh oysters, two mussels (Dijon - richer but very classic white wine taste; Thai - great curry flavor but not too heavy), lots of bread to dip into the sauces, and the donut dessert (many flavors to choose from). I left feeling extremely full and satisfiedService was amazing too - the gentlemen at the bar gave generous wine pours, responded to all our questions, and even told us the bakery that the bread came from.Overall a well-rounded experience and I will definitely come back.

Came here for HH and basically had dinner. They do not take reservations for HH. My friend has a gluten allergy and our server was very attentive to that. 5/5 Whipped ricotta - this usually comes with sourdough bread but my friend asked for veggies instead. The server offered me bread on the side. The texture is light and fluffy. The onions they add on top is divine. It gives the spread so much flavor.3.5/5 Fungi mussels - i love mushrooms so i chose this version of mussels. It was a bit too salty though. Also noticed some crunching sounds when I bit into some of the mussels. They must not have been cleaned thoroughly or wherever they purchased it from did not clean it properly. That crunch is likely from sand/dirt still in the mussel. 5/5 Oysters - $1.75/oyster during HH. These were good! Our server said these oysters are on the small side, tastes a little sweet and salty. He was exactly right about the taste but these were not that small to me. It was served on ice in a martini glass, sauces at the bottom. Cute presentation!!They billed for the regular oyster cost which was double the HH amount. My friends brought it to the attention of our server and at first he said it was correct. I told him it was $1.75 on the menu then he checked the menu and fixed it. The interior is cute. It reminds me of a hotel! The bar area looks like a hotel bar and the other side reminds me of a hotel lobby/small waiting area with the small counter and lamps overhead. Its a bit dim inside with warm lighting. It was pretty noisy in here and tables were packed closely together. A good date spot actually for its intimate setting. A little tough for fully catching up with someone just because its loud in here. Overall good experience. Good service, decent food, nice setting.

The mussels were average and fell short to blow our mind. However, the drinks were good and the staff was lovely. We would come back, more for the experience than the food.

An incredible date night spot. The food is incredible. The amount of mussels you get has so much value. I recommend getting the classic and Dijon. The burnt fingers were a great appetizer with the crispy calamari and peppers. There is unlimited bread with the mussels and you definitely want to use it to soak up the delicious broth. We got truffles fries as well but didn’t need to have it as the bread was more than enough. The drinks are also delicious - the one two many is a light and refreshing cocktail that paired well with the meal.I’m definitely coming back soon!
