Food was underwhelming but service and general atmosphere was great. Their guacamole is a must!

We've been going to Fonda for years and love it. Last night we almost had a lousy experience but NO! The management went above and beyond to make everything work perfectly for us. I was very grateful because it was my birthday. We all enjoy the food- my favorite is always camarones adobado and it was delicious as usual. My son loves the fried plantains and they really are they best of anywhere we've eaten. Thanks Fonda for continuing to be a reliable, fun, delicious place for our family! ***I can't seem to to get the individual star ratings to change- they should all be 5 stars!

Fonda serves the best Mexican food! We love the enchiladas de mole and the carne asada, but the best is the tortilla soap. Very nice atmosphere. The service has always been consistently good. Highly recommend!

The taco campechano disappointed me. The same with fish or pastor. The guacamole was very delicious, although the tortilla chips did not seem homemade. I also liked the cheese with chorizo but, of course, this place is not worth the price.

The guacamole and cheese were very good.
The tacos were disappointing. The tortilla was dry although perhaps not as dry as the meat.
We left paying $140 for guacamole, cheese with chorizo, an order of pastor, one of campechano, one of fish (the latter without comment), a mojito and another cocktail.
The offering of tacos in the city is too great to end up in this place.

This place has great food and drinks, the bartender Gael recommended me the chicken flautas and the pastor tacos. Both were delicious, I also had the crema de elote and the esquites, just i little disappointed on the esquites but I asked for some tahin and lime and that help a lot. If you’re going to drink ask for a spicy cucumber margarita, they are amazing

Delicious mexican cuisine!
We wanted to come for pre dinner happy hour drinks but unfortunately they only serve these at the bar. Margaritas and draft beer selection were tops. Food was also without fault, great flavours and good portion sizes. Can recommend the Beef Carne Asada! Our servers were all so friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Some of the best Mexican I've had on the East Coast. Represent, Fonda. Please come to DC!

The mocktails, nachos, pineapple upside down cake, churros, and flan were EPIC. Literally reminded me of my childhood. So nostalgic!

The atmosphere is nice. The service is extremely slow. I have sat for 20mins but I still did not get a cup of water even I mentioned it many times. The foods came late and not that good. It’s close to where I live, but I don’t think I will be back. The best thing probably is that the food is cheap.

The space inside is very open and welcoming, beautifully decorated, comfortable and roomy. The food was fantastic. From rich and satisfying enchiladas mole to perfectly-cooked cod, all seven of us were happy with our food. The pineapple upside-down cake is dreamy, so save room for it! Our server and all the staff were so friendly, attentive without hovering, and helpful. I loved my experience there and hope to return.
