Beautiful, intimate, and enchanting in every way. Loved this little grotto nestled within the lower east side. Get the extra dips with bread…Lamb worth the wait. Every detail of each dish was sublime. Merci beacoup…

The host was unfriendly, which made for a poor first impression. Thankfully, our server was fantastic and very attentive. Unfortunately, there was no space to hang my coat, so I had to keep it on my lap throughout the meal. The portions were disappointingly small and very overpriced. The area itself felt uncomfortable and a bit strange. Overall, it’s expensive and definitely not worth it.

Cozy small restaurant great for groups of 2-4ppl. They have a curated seasonal menu and nice wine pairings.
The Foccacia was so fresh and almost croissant flaky 🥐
All of our pastas were excellent

Avoid this absolute scam. They charged us extra $30 for 4 tiny pieces of absolutely tasteless white truffle (on top of a tiny $39 agnollotti). The spaghetti arraviata were an extremely average with more taste to garlic than tomato. Totally forgot the cocktail we ordered. Charged 22% mandatory tip because we booked in Resy. The most pretentious italian restaurant I'vee seen in NYC

Upselling on wine & bringing an un asked for dessert, then charging us marred a truly delicious meal. Definitely on the pricey side for pastas , atmosphere was perfect for fall tho.

Bit of a mixed bag here. The room is cool, chill vibes, good music and lighting and professional, friendly service. We had the “surprise” 6 course tasting menu. There was definitely a problem in the kitchen because there were some extremely long delays between courses, our meal took 2 1/2 hours.
We started with the complimentary focaccia, delicious and we went for the ricotta upcharge, $10 for 2 tablespoons of ricotta. Not sure the value proposition was there.
Flavors were generally on point, the eggplant with some charred greens was OK but didn’t love it. Favorite dish was the crab agnolotti, scrumptious.
The bucatini served before that was perfectly cooked, but was excessively salty, apparently because of the capers as we mentioned the issue to the server. However, it definitely tasted like someone slipped with the salt shaker. Our main was a kind of disappointing plate of mini meatballs in a sweet and savory sauce. Interesting but for $129 menu maybe we expected more than mini meatballs.
Dessert was a scoop of peach and Prosecco sorbet, refreshing, but a little bit underwhelming for dessert on a tasting menu. I guess as I am writing this I kind of wanted to like it more than I actually ended up liking it.

Good restaurant and food, but they include a 22% mandatory service fee to the check and ask you for additional tips. Think this is pretty unreasonable

Small, intimate pasta spot with great service and food. We shared with another couple and it was a perfect way to try a bit of everything. We will definitely come back

Two years ago, I dined at Forsynthia and tried the à la carte menu—it remains one of my fondest dining experiences. I’ve recommended the restaurant countless times since.
Unfortunately, my visit last night for the six-course tasting menu was the opposite experience: one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had in recent memory. The dishes felt uninspired and not worth the high price point. The eggplant appetizer was underwhelming, paired with lettuces that were far too bitter without any balance. The fried zucchini flower was heavy and over-fried. The pasta with zucchini, while perfectly al dente, lacked depth of flavor. The crab pasta was the only truly enjoyable dish of the night. The main course, consisting of just five small meatballs, felt insubstantial, and dessert was nothing more than a simple sorbet.
Leaving the restaurant, I was genuinely shocked at how lackluster the tasting menu was, especially compared to the exceptional meal I had here two years ago. Forsynthia once felt like a standout in the city, but my most recent experience was profoundly disappointing.
