Absolutely loved Forsythia for a date night!
Gorgeously designed menu.
Great service - attentive, knowledgeable and kind. The focaccia is delicious - recommend the honey butter, olive oil & ricotta to accompany. We split the beet salad and arancini - only call out was the prosciutto on the beet salad was “fried / crispy” vs fresh. For pastas we ordered the lasagna which is a MUST order - perfectly crisp, and the agnolotti short rib pasta. I did not love the agnolotti - would try a different pasta next time. For dessert we had the stracciatella gelato - so yummy and perfect palate cleanser. Must order.
The vibe of the restaurant was so cute - brick walls, intimate, warm, inviting. Even the candle in the bathroom smelled like a wood cabin campfire - invoking a comforting, home-like atmosphere.

You must get the soup, trout and lasagna!! It was really good and even my parents loved it and they are soooo picky! A bit pricey for 4 people but I guess that’s nyc

Forsythia is a neighborhood gem. The food is beyond delicious, the menu changes, so I’ve tried many dishes there and they are really all incredible. It is a cozy inviting space. Everyone who works there is really nice, and every time I go it’s a fantastic experience. I can’t recommend Forsythia more.

The pasta! We got the focaccia, lasagna, carbonara and agnolotti and they were all great and perfectly cooked. I only wish there the lasagna was bigger so I could get more of the delicious crispy bits in the side and bottom.

Exceptional. Top 3 restaurants in NYC. Good Italian is hard to come by. Did the 6 course tasting menu. Kind, attentive and not oppressive service. Chestnut pasta and mortadella tortellini soup were so delicious and unique. The egg yolk gelato with balsamic was exceptional, too. Thank you!

Absolutely delicious food. The pasta was the best I’ve had in my time in New York. We got three pastas — each special in their own way. The open-kitchen concept was well laid out and the vibe was immaculate. The bartender is fabulous. No notes
I have been to Forsythia a couple times, including the pasta making class!
The food is delicious and I enjoyed all the small touches (ie. complimentary focaccia, cookies/candies during check out). I loved the home made pasta!

Forsythia was okay. The food was overpriced for what it was, and while the cappelletti was good, the other dishes we got were just average. The service was good too; while our server was super kind, they asked to clear out our plates while we still eating so it did feel a bit rushed. The atmosphere was super intimate and cute, and is good for a date night

Felt the need to write the first review in my lifetime due to the absolute atrocity that is this restaurant. We had the tasting menu and after eating lackluster, dull, flavorless, cold plate after plate we were thrown the astronomically overpriced bill in our face while barely through our dessert. While trying to enjoy our dessert and remaining wine we were then told we had to leave because there were other tables waiting. Highly recommend going here if you want to feel starving slighted and disrespected by the time you leave.

I had an absolutely gorgeous night here with my partner. The food was delicious, and the restaurant was beautiful- the atmosphere put us at ease immediately. Our server, Julie Annie, was beyond wonderful, truly so skilled and knowledgeable (she was so good I’m writing a google review). Will absolutely be coming back next time we have something to celebrate.

I’m surprised by all the positive reviews. I came here on NYE and they were offering a tasting menu. The food was subpar, some of the dishes were cold, the main dish for the vegetarian menu was just puréed veggies. Even the ice cream was bad. Service was slow, they clearly forgot about our order 30 minutes in, and for the prices they charge, it was rather absurd. The real kicker came when the server brought out a tablet to ask if I wanted to leave an additional tip, despite already including a mandatory 22% service charge. There’s way better options for good pasta in nyc. Go elsewhere

Everything seemed rushed, and the food was extremely mediocre. My suppli was cold In the middle. Wouldn’t recommend. Each bill comes with 22% mandatory service fee and that is not the tip.

The service was outstanding, our waitress was a pro! Food came out really fast. The place is cozy but very small(which I liked). We didn’t have a reservation buy they found us a table. Wine selection was impressive, a lot of unique producers. Complimentary focaccia was a nice touch. Pasta was good, but I can’t say I was impressed. It was just a good pasta. Olive oil cake was more like a sponge cake, also I wish whipped cream was lighter . Overall a good experience!

Simply the best pasta dish I’ve ever had! Great wine recommendation too. I’ll definitely be back.
