Excellent fish and seafood, lovely steaks, amazing salads. A la carte style ordering. Good wine selection and great bar vibe. Lots of theatre crew spottings. Terrific location in the theatre district. Get the Apple strudel. Fantastic manager, Roxy!

The place is very old school. We are only 41 & 40 and we were by far the youngest ones there. But that's OK with us. We don't need super trendy and loud music to have fun. Just good food.We split the Porterhouse for 2 ($140) and a side of Brussels Sprouts. After tax and a generous tip we were at $200. A little pricey but it's NY after all!Server and his helpers were on point.I'm afraid for this restaurant though. If they continue to cater to the older generations, it's only a matter of time before their clientele fizzles out.

We were seated immediately.Food:Amazing. That's the best I can put it. The steamed vegetables were delightful. The inside of the baked potato was cooked perfectly. The outside of it was crispy and the perfect temperature. The calamari was some of the best calamari I've ever had. It is definitely in the top three from trying calamari all around the world. The steak was delicious however it did come out a little burnt. The lamb chops while also had burn on them were tender and moist and absolutely wonderful. The mashed potatoes or fantastic and the bread was just wow. I personally didn't care for the lemon sorbet and while it was beautiful looking, the fact that it came in a lemon allowed you to get the rhyme taste inside the sorbet which, to me, ruined the taste. That is not enough to lower the stars.Atmosphere:I enjoyed the atmosphere. I love the pictures on the wall and how they had everything arranged. I love the tables and the glasses and the silverware that were used. I enjoyed the dinner.Cleanliness:From the kitchen to the bathroom to the floors to the table and chairs and utensils and plates were spotless. I looked at everything, in detail.Service:The service was impeccable. They were on top of everything. There were two servers for us and they handled everything perfectly. They came over and checked on us and made sure that everything was going well. They listened to any criticisms. They were absolutely wonderful and amazing. This is the epitome of what other restaurants should strive for when they have servers serving their guests.Price:It was $380.09 for three of us to eat there and we don't drink alcohol.Recommended:If you don't mind putting out some money to eat, this is a definite place to try. We really loved this Frankie and Johnnie's. We have not been to the other two.

This was absolutely a great steak. I did not need any steak sauce to eat this steak. The Au gratin potatoes were good and cheesy. Another person in my party had the shrimp scampi over rice, and I tried it, and it was simply Devine. The waiter we had was polite and attentive. Good experience overall. Thank you, Frankie and Johnny's!! I will be back!

The food was average at best. We ordered an expensive cut of beef - medium. It was served well done on the outside and rare on the inside. It was very tough to chew. The Caesar salad tasted like it was from a salad kit. The Au Gratin potatoes were poorly done and had a slab of cheese melted on top that was hard to cut through. The bread basket was good - served warm with a nice variety. The wine list was also good.

Frankie and Johnnie's is an old school steakhouse. I love old school steakhouses. First the good - Ambiance is perfect. Great service! Our waiter was attentive without being intrusive. Who can ask for more? Cocktails? Fabulous. Steak? Cooked to perfection, the very definition of medium rare. Some things to work on: Appetizers need help. Three shrimp in the shrimp cocktail? for nearly $30, four are required. Oyster Rockefeller needs to have some oysters in them. Mushrooms and onions should be renamed onions and mushrooms. Finally, F&J's has a very extensive wine list. Is it too much to ask for more choices on the per glass list?

One of the best steaks in NYC. The best baked potato in the world. Always classy. Never disappointing.

One of our favorite go-to steak restaurants in NYC. Excellent service and great food. We had oysters and crabmeat cocktail for appetizers and porterhouse for 3, topped off with a decadent chocolate mousse.

Was expecting a little bit more as far as the steak goes. Ordered bacon appetizer and a wedge salad, both excellent. Bread was excellent, service was attentive, apart from the hostess who was not very friendly on arrival but did tell us thank you when we left. The main course a Porterhouse for 3 was just ok. Ordered Medium rare, was cooked more toward the rare side which would not be an issue for truly "aged" beef. Aged beef has a very distinctive flavor that this "aged" steak lacked. Also, while I am not a fan of over seasoning steaks with different sauces and rubs I do believe that there should be enough salt and pepper used in the cooking process that I should have not had to salt it at all, which in this case I did. Overall it was not a bad meal but for a 190.00 piece of meat I expected more.

This is a hidden gem! Impeccable and considerate servers, and the food was delicious and perfectly prepared. Pricing was pretty standard for a quality steakhouse. Would definitely eat here again on our next trip.

Found this spot on Yelp. Solid steakhouse in Hells Kitchen/Midtown. My only complaint would be a lack of seasoning/age on the meats, but overall a good time. The bacon steak was good (the sauce really helped), so was the porterhouse with the au poivre sauce, along with the lobster Mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes. The service was great, and the space is quite large with bar seating as well.

My husband asked for his steak medium rare and is was overcooked- he should have returned it. Au pauve sauce was watery- also should have returned. No complaints on my dinner. When a meal costs this much every thing should be good. We eat at F&J in Rye often and way better than this one, never a complaint there.

The value for quality of food was poor, overall. We got some starters, the strip steak and dessert. While the starters were ok, the main disappointment was the main. The steak was well cooked, however the fries served were small in portion, the fries were old or completely overcooked and we were served no side sauce or options. The apple strudel dessert was served with ice cream, but it was obvious it was not fresh and could have been bought from a store, frozen and warmed up. The service on 46th was overall ok, which was one of the only things that made this a little more enjoyable. The restaurant week menu price was overly expensive for the quality of food. Please improve this!
