Wow. Really pleased with this. Split a chicken parmigiana hero. Delicious. Absolutely must split with someone or be really hungry. Excellent quality chicken, great tasting sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. I wish the bread was a tad better (got whole wheat), but was definitely fresh - just didn’t live up to rest of sandwich. Will try the other bread the next time. Go hungry and enjoy. Note that there is NO seating inside or out.

Please learn how to make a Italian hero.Grande Pepperoni with Hot Dry Capocollo, Genoa Salami, and Picante Provolone Cheese,Lettuce, tomato,red onion, olive oil and red wine vinegar and sweet or hot pepper!This is the only sandwich shop in nyc that has NO IDEA what to do if you ask for a Italian combo.

last bastion of good value in the area! fresh bread, made to order, hungry man portions! no shrinkflation here people- one sandwich likely to feed 2 people but i can eat 3/4 for lunch and save 1/4 for a snack attack! will be back again!

I normally don't write reviews, but could not hold my tongue after my last experience here. Before the recent management change / renovation, I loved Hungry Hero's sandwiches and atmosphere (I live right around the block and came here very often). In my most recent visit today (post-renovations), I witnessed the manager (who is likely the owner) talk down at his worker in a very uncomfortable and unacceptable way. I will not let my money go to businesses (even if the food is good) that do not treat their workers with respect (at the minimum), unless I see a substantial change.
Wowzers! Ordered 8 sandwiches online and although it did take a bit longer than was quoted online for pick up time it was so worth the short wait. Everyone loved their sandwiches, so big you can make two meals or share and the workers were working so hard. Excellent!
