Was Brunch only menu and even the waitress noted how many tables they had jammed in for Valentine's! We were also told on arrival they needed the table back in 1hour 10mins! What we ate was great and the table was fine for a bit longer in the end, but just not what I expected on a return visit after 12 years or more.

Borderline predatory behavior -
I booked a large group dinner here (15 people) as part of a team offsite and was required to put a large deposit down.
There is a huge blizzard in New York right now and all of our flights were canceled, there is literally no way for us to get to the city for our offsite and for the dinner. It is fully outside of our control.
I didn't even ask for a refund - I just asked if we could please move the reservation to the new date of our offsite (less than a month away). Their director of private events, Lina Mark, said they are unwilling to do so. Again...did not even ask for a refund, simply asked to move the date, which felt reasonable.
Absolutely abhorrent way to do business, especially in the hospitality space.
Still great after all these years.

Trout -- good butter sauce, fennel seemed overpowering Pork chop -- not very interesting by itself, the peach relish made the dish. Patty pan squash was fine, pickled zucchini didnโt go well Broccolini was great, very nice sauce. Reasonable wine list, not a lot by the glass, but I made do. Terrific service. The space is the real star. Be sure to walk around and check out the rooms. Colonial tavern dรฉcor, just as they say on their web site. Interesting location, end of an alley that local artists paint (Freeman Alley)
the best sticky toffee pudding
Had brunch here at the bar today. Everyone who worked here was so lovely. Delicious pancakes and an even better Bellini

Freeman has such an amazing vibe! The place looks beautiful and has a really cool, cozy atmosphere. The staff were super nice and the service was great. The food was okay โ not bad, just nothing special, definitely worth checking out for the overall experience.

I hosted a private dinner for 12 women in the โblue roomโ at this restaurant and our experience was INCREDIBLE. The space was so quirky yet elegant, the food was out of this freaking world (get the panzenella!!!), and the cherry on the top was the Michelin-level service. Truly, our waiter constantly was looking to help us elevate the night and create an incredible experienceโno request was too small. I could not recommend enough how much you will love hosting an event here, or even just coming here for a normal meal!!

One of my favorite restaurants I have ever been to. I went for my 30th birthday dinner and the vibes were immaculate. It was so cozy and homey; it felt like you were visiting a European pub or hunting lodge. Itโs a hidden gem tucked away in an urban art alley. I had the roasted duck and it was superb. I loved the interior design and seating of the place; it was so unique and eclectic and brilliant. Highly recommend.

Incredible atmosphere w dim lights and a beautiful back bar. The back is the best. Ben out the speakeasy above. The food at Freemans is solid but I go here mainly for ambiance.

My husband and I just had our post City Hall wedding dinner here at Freemans. We rented out the Blue Room for 14 people and it was perfect. Communication with their manager Lina leading up was great and booking everything from start to finish was seamless and easy. All of the staff was warm and welcoming and treated us all so kindly. The food was 10/10 and the vibes are cozy and cool. We can not wait to come back and just have a meal ourselves but I highly recommend for special events as well!

After the creative chaos of the alley when you walk in the door at Freeman's. It's a quick vibe shift, quiet, candles, nice atmosphere. The catavelli was so good: flavors and textures, deliciousness. Husband loved the steak too.

Cool decor and vibe. Food was awesome too. Great for brunch or a differentiated dinner/drinks spot.
