Drinks are great here. So is the dinner. I got a halibut that was to die for. Very engaging service and wait staff. On the more expensive side given it’s Tribeca but it is worth it. You won’t be disappointed!

Absolutely love Frenchette! The food is consistently delicious with that perfect mix of classic French comfort and modern creativity.

Something is a little off about Frenchette.
The question about a place like this is one of degree: there are dozens of French bistros in downtown Manhattan, so why choose one that has higher-than-average prices (including some stratospheric prices) and where it’s really hard to get a table? You expect to find a place where the food and the service are definitely up a notch from its competitors.
And? Not quite. Our server was not just reserved but hostile, a parody of a French waiter dealing with uncouth Americans. The wine list was removed from the table before anyone asked if we wanted to order wine. There was a parade of little details like this that suggest to me the place is not getting enough feedback or oversight.
The food was pretty great, but again, weird inconsistencies. The roast chicken, which is supposed to be the star, was mediocre with a dry breast (seriously?) The bouillabaisse was excellent, but fairly small for a $50 dish, with the aioli served on a single slice of baguette (why?) And the côte du boeuf, at $8 an ounce…you do the math. That’s an 8 oz portion for $64. It was good, but not THAT good.
Basically? I was impressed but I wouldn’t go back, mostly because the waiter’s behavior was unacceptable—it would be anywhere but especially at a place like this. A bistro is supposed to be 100% fun and Frenchette isn’t.

Great restaurant overall, duck was a highlight however a bit on the pricier side.

The host was friendly on the surface but treated us in a way that felt racially biased. Advice to other minorities: avoid reservations right at opening. Despite an empty(literally 0 customer) dining room when we arrived, my friend and I were seated by the entrance/in the passageway. The server for our table was courteous. Had I noticed in the moment, I probably should request a different table or adjusted the tip.

The place has a beautiful setting and a very charming atmosphere. However, the service felt a bit slow and unorganized, especially when handling larger groups. The food isn’t bad, but considering the prices, you’d expect a level of quality and presentation that truly matches what you’re paying for. It seems like they’re not fully prepared to manage peak times or big tables. Still, the ambiance makes it a pleasant spot to enjoy a meal—just be ready to wait a little longer than expected.

Wow. What a special experience from the moment we entered. We didn’t have a reservation but they squeeze us in and made us feel so very welcome. Courtney is an angel.
Service was immaculate, water was always filled and food was incredible. Mashed potatoes and roast chicken were some of the best I’ve ever experienced. Carrots with labneh were so good. Highly, highly recommend

Pricey, but worth it. Docking one star cuz the a/c seemed inadequate on a recent visit.

Great food! Great Service! Fun place - recommend.
Service is disappointing. Went there during restaurant week, which usually serves to introduce restaurants to crowds that normally wouldn’t visit the restaurant. An opportunity to gain new customers. Comments on the service:
- Server did not introduce himself
- Server made no recommendations on wine (they are known for their wines….)
- Server never checked in on food
- Server never tried to offer more drinks when we were out (you don’t want to sell more drinks?)
- Server passed us several times and literally had to frantically wave at him to get attention.
The food was good but the service experience didn’t match the price point of the restaurant.
