The scone and croissant were delicious. The soup was great too. Service and atmosphere were rushed and dismissive. Not friendly. The Banh Mi was on the dry side and lacked something.
I expected more in terms of service and atmosphere because we had just dined at Le Veau d'Or and it was an exceptional dining experience. Maybe our expectations were too high but hard to believe these two restaurants are connected.

They close the seating area at 5pm on Saturday, so had to sit at a small hightop table outside the entrance. At 6pm a security guard was very aggressive about telling us to leave when we were actually already trying to gather up our garbage. Was unpleasant - I wouldn’t come here anywhere near closing time.

Frenchette Bakery is both a bakery and cafe by chefs Riad Nasr and Lee Hanson located at the Whitney Museum. At the bakery, one can pick up viennoiserie, individual pastries, baguettes, sandwiches and coffee. Or one can sit at the cafe to a meal with a fine menu that includes duck confit and rotisserie chicken. This is the second location of this fine bakery from these two chefs. I had a single shot Cortado, a croissant au Jambon with Gruyère. a croustillant with hibiscus and and a packet of Bouchons. Small high tables with stools are located outside to eat and leave. Lingering is not encouraged. The food was tasty but a touch expensive.

Fantastic late lunch. For vegetarians, often there aren’t too many options but here it was hard to choose what to pick. The cauliflower was delicious, as was the dandelion salad. Gnocchi are outstanding. And the bread! Although desert was not strictly necessary after all that food, it’s such a treat. Highly recommend.

We ate here on a whim and were lucky enough to get a high top table. We are shocked at how good the food was, really. The bread with chicken liver mousse, the black turnip soup, the spring pea salad, the Arctic char and the gnocchi Arrabiata were all perfect. Kudos to the chefs.

The space is beautiful and the food is nice but the atmosphere is serious and no one seems to be having a good time here. The workers don't look happy and I echo another reviewer wondering if whether they are treated well.I think part of what makes dining out fun is being in a fun place where workers are enjoying themselves. Here, there are no smiles or laughter- it was just weird.Sure some museum restaurants are super upscale and have a stoic vibe but that isnt the case here. Theres an open kitchen so you have a view of everything. It's just a strange anxious vibe.

Is it expensive for a sandwich...yes it is. Is it worth it. Yes it is. The menu is simple but the sandwiches are excellent. The bread is about as good as bread can be. Had a lovely lunch and so enjoyed the sandwich went back for pastries for dessert.

The giant olive/rosemary bread that is shaped like a leaf is AMAZING. It has a beautiful crust that is crunchy, salty and addictive. The cannele, cookies and jambon butter also tasty. The place and be a bit hectic and pricey but this is only because it’s in a world class busy museum. I’m just happy the museum chose a nyc bakery that had already proven itself independently rather some generic museum coffee/pastry shop

New cafe outpost at the Whitney, perfect for a light lunch or snacks to go after the museum. They have bread loafs, assorted savory and sweet baked goods, and patisserie. The pistachio Paris-brest and Gruyère choux buns are really delicious!
