This place rocks, especially for lunch. Great deals and delicious, deep flavors with excellent appetizers. I come here constantly for their $3-$4 onigiri when I don't know what to get for lunch, and I get their TanTan Ramen when I'm craving a big portion for the same price as a tiny salad nearby.
The back area is a nice quiet spot for lunch and the staff are attentive and smiley. Always a pleasure!
It feels like an actual ramen restaurant in Japan. You quickly eat and go that’s all. The Tonkotsu was not my favorite. It lacked in flavors but too greasy for me. It’s a very busy place but despite that, service was great.
I’ve been coming to Nishida Sho-ten on 49th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue for the past 13 years, and it’s still one of my absolute favorite spots in New York City. I’ve been to a lot of ramen places over the years, but this one easily ranks in my top three. It has that cozy, comforting vibe that feels like home, and the food is consistently amazing.
