Excellent cookie! Reminds me a lot of levain, but more chocolate chips. And it was very fresh at 9PM. Plus, the art cookies are so cool!

Cute little cookie shop - is it the best chocolate chip cookie in the city? No lol but still worth a visit. I recommend the minis - specifically the cookies and cream!

Best chocolate chip of my life
This review is exclusively for the chocolate chip cookie! I had Funny Face Bakery on my list for the longest time, after seeing it beat out Levain in several cookie reviews. I had my doubts, as I am a huge Levain fan, so I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed this cookie. However, I do not necessarily think it is fair to compare the two cookies, as it comes down to preference. To me, Levain's cookies skew more toward "natural" flavoring, versus Chip City's cookies are artificially sweet. Funny Face is more on the sweeter side, and the consistency is more crispy than chewy. The crispy factor really surprised me for a thicker cookie. Anyone who likes cookies with these characteristics will appreciate the cookie. This is the best sweet chocolate chip cookie I have had so far in NYC. However, $6/cookie is very pricey, though I would still pay to treat myself once in a while. I have seen poorer reviews on the other cookies, so I will update my review when I return to try some of the others.

Funny Face Bakery is hands down now my favorite cookie spot in NYC! For background, I’ve never been here nor even heard of the bakery until digging around at bakeries that did specialty desserts and treats for Valentines Day. The staff was incredibly friendly and helped me pick out the perfect cookies, to which I went with the s’mores and chocolate chip cookie—which is, without a doubt, the BEST chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever had. It’s perfectly soft, gooey, and absolutely addictive. If I had some ice cream handy, it would’ve made the perfect pazookie but still absolutely phenomenal. The main reason I came here is because of their specialization and customization of different kinds desserts and treats. In this case I came for their Valentines Day sugar cookies where I got a cookie with “Let’s Get Freaky” very nicely lettered in pink icing design, as a fun and unique way to ask my girlfriend to be my Valentine. It was a huge hit! Their attention to detail when it comes to creativity is very real and you can see how much they care about the place when the cookies taste just as good as they look. Whether it’s for their specialty treats with funny messages, or their regular all-star lineup of cookies you truly CANT GO WRONG🙌🏾

Yummy smore's cookie! soooo good! tried some when a coworker ordered them for a office meeting and was really impressed! With some crunch and smore's, the combo was perfect and great for sharing (or I'm sure I can eat one myself).

We went by chance because we wanted cookies and it was close. We were thinking about going to crumbl, after trying both this place deserves enormous recognition, the cookies are wonderful and it is very underrated compared to crumbl ones, they are a delight. The mass is outrageous.

Super small place right in front of Levain, at $6.54 a cookie and nothing to envy to its neighbors. I would say that they are even better and the place retains more of its essence.

Never experienced as rude and unwelcoming of customer service, came in at lunch with my sister and spent $90 on 6 cookies… you would have thought that when spending that much that the staff wouldn’t act like we were a nuisance for existing and coming into the shop to buy from them…

They were out of everything, despite online saying they had it in stock. Customer service was absolutely the rudest experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. Shocking truly, considering the nature of the small business is to retain customers.
Amazing!
A small place but with a very good atmosphere and decoration, their chocolate chip cookie seemed crazy to me, for me better than Levain, I would definitely recommend this place!
