Gabriel’s Restaurant near Central Park was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The food really stood out — the beef dish was perfectly cooked, rich, and full of flavor, and the tagliatelle pasta was just as impressive, fresh and beautifully prepared.
What truly elevated the evening, though, was the service. The host was warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and the entire team went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Every server we interacted with was attentive, accommodating, and genuinely friendly, which made the whole experience feel effortless and enjoyable.
It’s rare to find a place where both the food and the service hit this level. I’ll definitely be coming back.

A hidden gem in the heart of NYC!
I recently dined at Gabriel's and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cozy and upscale — ideal for a date night or a nice dinner with friends.
The service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Their cocktail list is also impressive — the espresso martini was one of the best I've had in the city.
Whether you're a local or just visiting, Gabriel's is definitely worth a visit. Great food, great vibe, and great people. Highly recommended!

I’ve been coming to Gabriel’s for years and it never misses. The Colorado lamb chops are unreal — perfectly cooked every time — and the pasta is exactly what you want from a classic New York Italian spot. We started with the tuna tartare which was super fresh and balanced, and finished with tiramisu and espresso.
The room has that old New York energy — warm, polished, and confident without trying too hard. Service is professional but relaxed. You can tell it’s been family-run forever.
Places like this don’t really exist anymore. Central Park South staple for a reason.

My family always stops by Gabriel’s when we are in town. A true favorite staple to our trips - from the wonderful food to the incredible hospitality - a gem in nyc. Our waiter this last time, Steven, was outstanding. We had a phenomenal time and look forward to returning many more times! Dish wise - I am always biased for the butternut squash brown butter sage pasta.

My wife and I spent Valentine’s Day at Gabriel’s, and it was hands down one of the most special nights we’ve ever had.
Gabriel Jr. and Theo did an unbelievable job making the entire evening feel personal and unforgettable. From the moment we walked in, they treated us like family. The service was flawless, the wine recommendations were spot-on, and the pacing of the meal was perfect — romantic, relaxed, and thoughtful.
The highlight of the night was this beautiful special dessert they made for Valentine’s Day (pictured). It wasn’t just stunning — it was absolutely delicious. You could tell real care and creativity went into it. It felt like something crafted just for the occasion, and honestly, just for us.
Gabriel Jr.’s passion and Theo’s attention to detail truly elevated the entire experience. They didn’t just serve dinner — they created a memory for me and my wife that we’ll always remember.
If you want a place that genuinely makes Valentine’s Day feel magical, this is it. ❤️

We were in New York for about a week, we ate out two to three times a day and Gabriel's stands out is probably the favorite out of everywhere we went. The food was amazing, the drinks were top-notch, not to mention the bartenders expertise, and the staff including Gabriel himself were incredibly friendly and welcoming and happy to chit chat and share cool stories about new york. Loved it!

Stephen, our waiter, was a sheet delight. And when Gabriel the owner stopped by to greet us, we felt like VIPs. Who knows, maybe we actually were VIPs.... Either way, a very enjoyable meal.
If NYC had a love letter to Italian dining, this place would be it. From the moment you step inside, there’s a warm, timeless charm that instantly makes you feel at home like a beloved local spot transported straight from a Roman to the heart of Manhattan.
The menu is nothing short of masterful. Every dish tastes like it was crafted by someone who truly knows and loves Italian food from rich, velvety pastas to tender, perfectly seasoned entrées. The Ravioli Zucca practically melts on your tongue, and the Brasato di Costolette di Manzo (braised short ribs) is pure comfort elevated to art.
But what really sets Gabriels apart isn’t just the food its the experience. The ambiance strikes a beautiful balance between cozy and elegant, ideal for a romantic dinner, a pre-theater meal before Lincoln Center, or a weekend brunch with friends. The staff are consummate professionals warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making your meal memorable. I’ve never felt rushed or overlooked; instead, every detail feels thoughtfully executed.

I went there for lunch a couple days ago and saw a situation that made me very uncomfortable, i witnessed
the owner/ manger react so aggressive to a couple. Calling them cheap and challenging the husband to step outside to fight. Will definitely not return to a place that treats customers like that. Very unprofessional.

I was sitting at the bar during my visit and witnessed an interaction that was very uncomfortable. The customers involved were calm and polite the entire time, but the worker (who appeared to be the owner) was extremely rude.
I heard the worker call the couple “cheap” and then continue to escalate the situation in an aggressive and inappropriate manner. There was no justification for speaking to customers that way, especially when they were being respectful.
It was honestly some of the worst behavior I’ve ever seen from a business toward its customers. Based on that experience alone, I will not be dining here again.
