There aren't enough stars to express how much I love this restaurant!! We pop in every time we're in the neighborhood, and without fail our meals and experience are nothing short of perfect! First of all, the atmosphere. It's perfect! I love it! It does feel "classic New York". Please don't ever change a thing!! The menu has so many things, so many choices! The pumpkin ravioli is my go-to, I could eat it every day, just melts in your mouth and so perfectly flavored, just a touch of earthi-ness and beautifully fragranced. We always start with mesclun salad; that with the roasted potatoes and brocoli could make a nice dinner all on it's own. They know how to cook vegetables! They are true crispy potatoes, and the inside is creamy and delicious! What makes them stand out is that they know how to use garlic! SO many places just dump a ton on your food, til you palate is wrecked and all you taste is garlic. YUCK! No, they flavor it with garlic, not overwhelm it. The pizza alla Lara, named for their granddaughter, is just the perfect brick over pizza. Such flavors! Such perfect texture! And, want to really treat yourself? Indulge in the lasagna! It is worth every single calorie! Again, it avoids the typical, stodgy, heavy pile of cheesy mush so often found in restaurants. This is your mama's lasagna! It has BITE. The noodles are al' dente! The sauce has flavor! Additionally, a great wine list, perfect pairs to all the dishes, and great cocktails! And the staff. What can you say about the genuine care that Frankie and team offer to everyone who walks in the door! They are hospitality personified. I grew up in a large, extended Italian family, and this feels like coming home, each and every time. It's the best!!

Despite the fact that my two friends and I didn’t have a reservation on a Saturday night, the owner was accommodating, warm and friendly. He made it happen for us. The homemade truffle tagliatelle was superb. The house wine was very good.

An intimate restaurant on Christopher Street. The food is always delicious and the service is great.

The cutest and best homemade Italian restaurant! The food is incredible (homemade bread, homemade pasta, pizza from scratch, etc.), and they make a great dirty martini. The owner and staff are so beyond friendly and generous. They treat you like family. Can't recommend enough!

I had a terrible experience and it ruined my day...the owner was very rude, the food was overrated, and the place is a bit pricey for a street restaurant

Went to Gaetana's last night with a group of friends since it was quaint and not too busy. Can't express enough how nice the staff was. Frankie (the owner) checked in on us often and even gave us a free bottle of home made lemoncello and a giant piece of tiramisu. The pastas were all great but the staff was amazing. Will definitely be coming back.

Food was excellent. Prices very reasonable and our waiter, Rocky was the best!

Old school Italian restaurant and bar, serving traditional dishes like Lasagna Marinara. Big portions and fair moderate prices.

Such a cute place- outdoor seating and indoor seating. It was such a great place to get out of the heat. Food was also delicious! The fried calamari, penne a la vodka, and the pumpkin ravioli was absolutely amazing. The owner and staff were absolute dolls.

Do you want a real taste of old New York? Come to Gaetana's this place is one of the best hidden gems in the West Village. There are tons of new restaurants around very expensive Nd with no history or personality. Gaetana's is the opposite, authentic food, great desserts, good drinks and the attention is personal and unique . Can't recommend it more!

Wonderful atmosphere! The staff was absolutely fantastic. We brought our 2 and 8 year old kids, and they treated us like family. The food was fresh and came out quickly. We loved the feeling of al fresco dining even inside with the wide open French doors throughout.

Absolutely homemade Italian food!! Growing up Italian, I've never eaten this well in a restaurant ever. And the pride that the staff takes in their product is unmatched. I was taken here by a local on a recent trip to NYC, and I cannot rave enough about this place. GO THERE!!!

They took us right before closing. Authentic made from scratch Italian food. One of the best meals I've had in my life! They treated me and my family like royalty . This place is a gem hidden in NYC. I will be coming regularly. I though places like this were extinct...
