Rooftop bar, cool decor and fire pit but wait for elevator, wait even with reservation, no view

One of the most adorable rooftop bar/ restaurant in the city. The garden is charming and has the feel of a hidden gem. Good for dates - would recommend going during off hours.

One of my favorite bars in the city. The vybe is really mystical with all the fairy lights and greenery. There's even a swing on the opposite side next to the bar where there are no tables. The drinks are pretty good and the food is ok. It's an experience and a really fun thing to do as a couple, alone or even in a group.

It's always a treat dining at Gallow Green. It was cold and rainy outside but it's fully covered and heated on their roof. Staff was friendly and food/drinks were great per usual!

Gallow green is a great rooftop bar. It shines with its atmosphere and decoration. It feels like an outdoor garden and a retreat from the city—while still having great views of the plus, there are quite a few sections — flower-filled archways, quaint bar area, “garden” seating, and at the edge great views of the city.

The drinks are what you expect from a rooftop bar. The food is what you expect too, but better variety than a lot of rooftop bars and the servers have always been helpful and kind.

The terrace is breathtaking, lots of greenery, very stylized with railway rails, lots of wood, the lights in the evening are perfect. The starter was delicious, really too good compared to the meal. The service was good and the atmosphere superb.

The setting is beautiful, but I wouldn’t come back here for the food, which is just okay. So this is more of a drinks and vibe spot.

Great experience! Will be back. Drinks are great! Very cozy. It was drizzling and we were covered and surrounded by trees and plants.

I love Gallow Green. It remains one of NYC's greatest hidden gems, transporting you immediately to what feels like a faraway place. The attentive service, delicious cocktails and tasty food only enhance an already magical experience.

The staff was rather inattentive. We sat for 15 min b4 anyone even offered water service. The server that did wait on us looked at our table no less than five times before he finally came to introduce himself and ask water preference. Great spot and food was good, not great.

Beautiful green rooftop space. If you like antiques, vintage decor and greenery this is your spot. Quiet peaceful oasis that takes you out of the Manhattan craziness. Great drink menu. You can sit anywhere but have to go to the bar for your drinks and to order food.

The Sleep No More Cocktail was delicious and the aesthetic of this place is incredible. Didn’t get to explore too much, but the vibes and the people were great. I had a really great time.

The whole vibe is an experience in itself. My friend and I went for a bite. I was expecting more from the place.

I can’t have any alcohol at the moment so I was looking forward to trying their mocktails. The cucumber agua Fresca was great but the mango mocktail tasted like juice and was lacking dimension.

For food we had a shrimp cocktail, crabs claws, grilled fish tacos and guacamole. Everything was good quality but lacked a bit of flavour and finishing touches. The shrimp cocktail would have been better if the cocktail sauce and mayo were better. They weren’t bad but very flat. The guacamole lacked lime and cilantro, the fish tacos had very small pieces of fish and could have used more herbs or other flavour.

The service was somewhat underwhelming. It wasn’t particularly busy when we went. The waiter took our orders and asked how things were but lacked warmth and seemed disengaged. It felt very transactional. The support staff could also use a little training. I asked for a new plate and cutlery at one point (something some restaurants change automatically) and the person I asked looked at me like I was just being annoying. When they brought the side plate and cutlery, they placed the cutlery directly on the table rather than on a napkin or the clean plate. It lacks attention to detail.

The vibe was ok. Beautiful setting but the music was a little odd and the service underwhelming. This place has potential to be way better than it is if they payed more attention to every detail.

Tourist trap. tacky, don’t go. This place is on a rooftop but there are NO VIEWS. The food is terrible and ridiculously overpriced, and the drinks taste like cheap essential oils. Don’t waste your money and time, you are much better eating at a food truck, ANY FOOD TRUCK! I was there for a dinner with my daughters and was fooled by the good reviews. We ordered oysters—they were ok, but for $56 a dozen I expected much better. We had guacamole which was ok also but the main dishes— falafel and tacos Al pastor, were a joke. The buy their pita bread and tortillas at Costco, fill it in with tiny portions of protein—the falafel had 3 tiny mushy disgusting falafel balls stuffed with slaw, and the tacos Al pastor had mostly canned pineapple. The waiters are so unprofessional! They had a fight in front of us because our waitress, who was taking a long time to get to our table to take our order, confronted another waiter who checked in us. The busboys kept filling our sparkling water glasses with tap water. I guess you can be fooled by the greenery around you and think this place has a nice ambiance but if you look closely? The plants are half dead, they are not well tended and they are carelessly strewn around in their original plastic containers. We are native New Yorkers and WE KNOW many a place where you can eat well and get good service anywhere in the city.
