Great coffee great atmosphere and great desserts. Service was awesome. Employees were very nice and very helpful. Place is really nice and really relaxing. Thank you, I will definitely be going back.
Great addition to the neighborhood - open very late and they serve decaf drop coffee. Large space with good seating options.
I was craving an affogato and found this place in the area I was at…
They were very nice and patient, the girl that made my affogato gave me some flavors to try without me even asking because she saw my face all confused trying to choose which flavors to choose.
I was so pleased to come here and try some place new!
The affogato was incredible!! Perfect combination of flavors: I had *Mandorla di Toritto + Fior di latte*, coffee made to perfection and was not overpowering or too bitter, affogato was so so good!!! Definitely recommend!!!
Young and vibrant atmosphere, outdoor sitting, great customer service and above all, delicious hand crafted ice cream. We tried the Pistachio, creamy, on point with the sugar and a hint of salt. Portions are also enough for two people to share that way you can try different flavors. There are many Italian gelaterias in the Upper West Side however, Gentile standout.
Delicious chocolate icecream here!
Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. Loved this place and the ice cream is delicious. Made a plum torte for my husband's birthday this week and wanted some ice-cream to go with it and the crema antica was his choice. We got a pint of that and hazelnut:) One star less for the cost :( ($20 for a pint)
Very good gelato. Kid friendly and was very good priced
Their gelato are great but prepare to wait in line because they are so understaffed, and overworked.
Delightful gelato & pastry
Update: I went for a second time as I wanted to check it out again since the gelato was so good last time and wanted to check if they were consistently good. 2 for 2 on the taste! No cleanliness issues this time either. I'll be back and curious to try other locations they have in the city.

It's real gelato for those in the know. It's not big mounds out in the open but in the traditional gelato containers. I had the pistachio and dark chocolate and definitely top quality comparable to Italy.
The minus one star is for the service and cleanliness. A server grabbed a stool to take down a flavor that was out, moved the stool back and didn't change gloves. The biggest issue is that they also give a mini cone for the cups (nice touch), but she used the same stool gloves to grab it. I pointed it out and asked for a new one with clean gloves which was provided but not even an apology or much of any reaction.
Still, I will be back but staff needs stricter training and will be sure to be diligent when getting served next time.

The staff was really gracious, their dark chocolate flavour was fabulous, caffe was good too, on their recommendation I also had a bergamoto (lime/orange), overall a thumbs up!
Best hazelnut gelato. Not too sweet nocciola compared to Eataly’s
Gelateria Gentile is a true corner of sweetness! The gelato is creamy, full of flavor, and made with high-quality ingredients. Every cone is a little work of art, and the variety of flavors will make you want to try them all. A place that wins you over at the very first taste and keeps you coming back for more.
Small-batch flavors change weekly - the honey lavender is divine. Uses real fruit and premium chocolate. Kids love watching them make waffle cones fresh throughout the day.
This place is perfect. Best gelato in New York City. It never disappoints.
