My girlfriend and I took a 2 day trip to NYC. Her family is from Sicily and she wanted to try the ice cream from Gelateria Gentile. We went out of our way and further than any other nearest ice cream shop just for this reason. As we were walking in, my girlfriend stopped for a second to take a picture from the outside of the store to share with her dad, and we were greeted by the employee (unsure if owner) with a “Why don’t you ask before taking a picture?”, to which my girlfriend immediately responded, “I am so sorry. I will delete it right now.” He said, “Yes, actually you will. In Japan you can’t even take pictures……” We just looked at each other decided to order but asked if we still had time as they were closing soon. His answer was, “Actually, we closed early so you have 5 minutes.” We just walked out. This happened at 1145 pm on March 30th. This was completely unnecessary. We will not recommend this location to anyone.

Their nondairy chocolate tasted like a half liquid dark fudge brownie. Delicious!I wasn't as big a fan of the mixed berry ice cream. Would've preferred two scoops of the dark chocolate mentioned above instead!

Great little cafe-delicious gelato and one of the best cappuccino’s I have had-make sure to order with oat milk.Staff was excellent-very kind and attentive. They sell delicious shortbread cookies too!

I love this place. Service (6/5) - The server was so nice and really gave a whole run down on everything and made sure we tried everything before deciding on what to get!! Really makes a difference. Gelato (5/5) - Gelato is super good and tasted fresh. Ambiance (3/5) - nothing special and it is super tight. I would say no more than 4/5 people inside.

Not that many flavors to choose from, but it is so tasty! One of the staff was pretty curt and dismissive to me, but the other was very friendly. Overall would recommend if you're in the mood for a classic taste, but not if you want adventurous or unique flavors.

The number of options may not seem like much, but I feel like there's something for everyone, and they clearly focus on quality. I'm definitely looking forward to coming again!

Exceptional gelato. Well worth the stop. If you love Italian gelato, don’t skip this. Service was also great. The woman who helped did a great job explaining the history of the gelato and the flavors. Extra bonus was the fresh whipped cream!

Amazing gelato, the dark chocolate flavor is the richest and the darkest I've ever had. And get the chinotto flavor if you get a chance, it's an Italian citrus fruit, but tastes nothing like the citrus I've had before.

Very yummy gelato!! Plus the workers are so friendly here. You get to try two samples. I ultimately opted for a small cup which was the perfect size. I tried all of my friends flavors too and there wasn't a single bad one.
