It was average. I recommend they change the gluten free dim sum recipe because all rice does not make for a good dim sum crust, maybe cassava added or something. It was a mushy mess (but the inside was good). The same comment for the spring rolls, the outside wrap texture was weird.

Casual vegan spot owned by a mom and pop. With daily lunch specials and a full menu of food choices, every time I come, it's like I'm finding something new to try. Dim sum, dumplings and seitan skewers are highlights. My favorite dishes are the full entrees such as vegan duck, Vegan black sesame beef and any stir fry with baby bok choy. The flavors, cooking methods and sauces are familiar -- like a Cantonese restaurant. Must try the pumpkin soup!

I’m so sorry to be blasphemous against a fully vegan restaurant but other vegans need to know so you don’t bring your foodie carnists friends here. The age tofu was simply not age tofu….it was just tofu in nugget form. And I had the chow fun and it hardly tasted like anything 😭 I’m so sorry, the store people seemed very nice and let me chill there for a while watching a contrapoints video but I have to speak my truth.

Amazing traditional Asian food for a reasonable price. Huge menu. Great location an easy walk from The Met. Will absolutely visit again.

Dimly lit and quiet. Nice spot. I had the eggplant lunch special for $14. I would go here again.

A really nice vegan place with great food, healthy portions and fair prices.

I stopped here on a trip to Manhattan, as it was close to my hotel. Everyone on staff was super friendly, I really liked the vibe.

My favorites were the general tso’s chicken and bean curd skins. Soup came with the meal and I added on some steam buns that were delicious too. I felt like I got a lot of food for my money, especially considering this is NYC.

I only have positive things to say about Ginger Root. I’ll definitely come back the next time I’m on the East Side

Delicious vegan food! Dined several times before, so it's a hidden gem on UES!
The Malaysian Curry Stew is a must and definitely the star dish. We had plenty of starters, and all were cooked to perfection - Agadashi Tofu, Scallion Pancakes, Pan Fried or Steamed veggie dumplings, Soy Nuggets... Oh, so, so good! It's a great environment for kids, and the staff are very busy with deliveries but attentive. All fresh and tasty food! Will return again and again.

Excellent Asian vegan cuisine with $15 lunch specials with large portions. Love that some are loaded with vegetables with minimum added sugar.

Had the mango lassi, l13 and l14, and lobster rolls.

Seated right away in this very quiet restaurant. Food came out quickly. Staff was attentive and ambiance is nothing special.
