I love it here, the staff, the ambiance, and the pastries! I only didn’t give it a 5 star because I wish it had just a bit more options when it comes to the tea & coffee menu such as having oat milk or lactaid free milk and etc. However I’m always back here time and time again anyways especially when I need a different environment to catch up on work and grad school.

I can’t speak to the food as this is about an order from their website. I’ve ordered before and fulfillment took a while but there were regular updates about it. I didn’t mind because I understand it’s a small business, there were a lot of orders at once and they were just starting up with online orders.It’s been a couple of years since then and my favorite coffee drinker loves their coffee. So we ordered some. It’s been a month and the Shop Pay app shows the order hasn’t shipped and we’ve had no word about our order being delayed. I’ve emailed (it’s been 10 days since my first email) and aside from an automated response that someone would get back to me in 24-48 hours I’ve had no response.Since then I’ve tried Facebook messenger, Instagram, the website contact box, Shop Pay contact request and today I tried to call the phone number listed on Google for the cafe. Shopify says I can’t get a refund without the shop’s approval. No idea what to do when the shop won’t respond.I’m really disappointed as I want to support this business and I have recommended it to my loved ones in the past.

I really wanted to like this neighborhood joint, but the iced Moroccan mint tea tasted like dirt. Will try again and order something else. Hopefully it is better!

I happened to be in the area and was hungry. So as I always do, I open my maps app on my iPhone and type in foods near by. I saw that Ginjan had the best reviews 5 starts. So I came right on in, I love it here.Mohammad gave me great energy and expertise. Now my favorite part about the experience is the food. I ordered the chicken bowl, omg it is to die for. Flavors 10/10, preparation 10/10, presentation in the bowl 10/10. I meannn it was just perfect. The Chef understands and perfects his recipe to the T. I will be back to try many more items on the menu.P.s the Bissap health drink 10/10 to the tenth power come see for yourself!!!Vegetarian options: Ginjan is open to accommodating your dietary needs. Be very vocal, that is all it takes. The energy is inviting and welcoming.Dietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten free options are available. As well as allergen warnings.You must always still ask questions to be sure and make it right for you.Kid-friendliness: The music and the ambience is inviting for children. They have Books that both adults and children can utilize.Wheelchair accessibility: There is enough space and low tables so anyone with a wheelchair can maneuver with ease.

I love this cafe. It's a little loud but the food is great! Very nice vibe to study while drinking some coffee. The baristas are also very nice and polite.

The vibes are immaculate. I had like 5 mins to get to my train and they got my food prepared and even let me try their Bissap drink. I made my train and had a nice lunch on the way home!Not the most authentic African cuisine but I’m not complaining at all! The jollof with chicken hit the spot!Thanks so everyone at Ginjan!

Ginjan is is like a trip to the true "African hospitality and warmth" in Harlem. I came earlier today to take a zoom meeting and felt compelled to come back. The staff is very friendly and interested in the concept of serving custumers. The coffee is good. I will be back to try their food bites. As someone who knows the industry quite well. I can truly proclaim this place to be an hidden gem. They have won over a regular by just being themselves.Thank you
