The food was delicious! However the service was super slow. They only had one waiter working even though the place was packed. It wasn’t his fault but they should have had more people staffed. They also had a person taking pictures of everyone at each table & then you could buy them. We also made a reservation specifically for the rooftop but it was closed & we had to sit inside even though it was a nice day. I don’t think I would go again but it’s worth a visit.
People who were seated after us received their food first, I'm really not trying to be mean but I've had better food at the Cheesecake Factory. The drinks looked so pretty on their menu but they looked different when they came to the table and didn't even taste that great. Sorry but I won't be coming back.
booked the roof top and it was closed. Nothing said online about it. So we stayed in the restaurant part. We were HOT air conditioning not working well. Service, no words for that. The menu shows photos for the food and beverages. That was a definitely NEVER COMING BACK HERE for me. A tourist trap. Thank god we didn't order food we left after one drink.
It's was beautiful the ambience and scenery was gorgeous as far as the food it was good but could of been better my friend had to send her food back and I booked for the rooftop and they never notified me until I got there that the rooftop is closed and at the end the waiter got kinda rude with us overall I loved this place for picture purposes it's definitely Instagram picture worthy!
We were seated quickly, our servers were great and very friendly. Food and drinks were delicious! The only downside was the rooftop was closed. Other than that, it was a great experience.
We turned up without a reservation . Inside and decor is lovely. Staff attentive but miserable. Food cooked well enough but not due the price. My daughter and I had rib eye and both expected something better than what we got. I had fries with mine and they charged extra $12 for salad which was extreme as the rib eye was overpriced at $59 Would never return and felt a bit miffed at the 20% undeserved tip they stuck on my bill
The name is very misleading. The rooftop wasn't open when we reserved a space on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. It was disappointing and just jarring. Felt like we paid rooftop prices with no rooftop
Delicious! A little disappointed that the rooftop was closed, but that didn't take away from the amazing meal and ambiance of the inside. Gnocci was fantastic, Calamari was fresh and light, and the cocktails were perfect! An overall fabulous dinner.
I had a great time at Ampia. Food and Overall Service was good. My only gripe was that the online address was different than the actual address. Fortunately, it was around the corner. Then the restaurant was not the easiest to find. Lastly, I got the sense of being rushed after we were finishing with our meal.
Very average place. Rooftop is cool and all but the vibe is just dead lol. Service took awhile to get drink orders when the place wasn't busy and the food was just alright nothing crazy. Place is overhyped tbh.
Restaurantji Recommends
The food was extremely underwhelming. The pasta was undercooked and lacked flavors, the lobstercroq was also very bland and not what you expect from croquettes. No salt in any dish. Also, they give you reservations for upto 10:30pm and when you reach they rush you to order asap because kitchen is closing. Then they rush to kick you out hovering over your table. Overall I would not recommend it.
Went for lunch in the rooftop, had a burrata and a pizza. It was good, service was quick. It was windy and cold, it was hard to eat, we wanted to hurry and leave. On some summer days, heatlamps are needed.
Not a bad spot at all, but not really the “rooftop” environment we expected from pictures. You can see up but not out. It was an Italian restaurant but the music and vibe didn't really fit the fare. The Gnocchi dish was great! Burger came out undercooked. People were nice! Service was fast but not super attentive.
Tldr; poor service, decent food, okay drinks, pretty place, dog!Upon our first arrival, the host downstairs wasn't super friendly. We had a reservation at 7:30 and weren't seated till 8 pm. There was at least a cute area to wait and a dog we could pet.Our server started the conversation asking where my friend and I are from (we're both Asian). When we said we live in the city, he insisted on asking "where are you really from?" Once we gave him the answer he wanted, he told us we didn't look it and he thought we were Filipino. Very off-putting start to our dinner.I got the sunset sangria, which tasted only like wine & I ended up not being able to finish it. We started with the calamari which was okay, but a bit chewy. We got two of the gnocchi dishes (one white sauce & one red). I'm pesceterian and my dish didn't list meat, but it ended up including meat. So my friend and I ended up going 50/50 with our dishes. They were decent, although i ended up feeling sick / allergic so i had to stop eating. When it came to paying the bill, the server brought the wrong check that was much more expensive. Our meal cost around $120 for 2 drinks, 1 appetizer, 2 pasta entrees.Overall the vibes were very pretty & nice area to explore, but wouldnt go back with the high costs & poor service.
Ampia has a great space, nicely decorated and insta worthy corners. However the food was really disappointing. My friend ordered the margarita pizza and it was clearly a defrosted frozen pizza, super watery, cheese sliding off bad. I ordered a pasta with subs for marinara sauce and chicken and they were very accommodating to my changes which I appreciated. The drinks are very overpriced at $22 for most cocktails. Servers were great but we waited over 30 mins for our table on arrival despite having a reservation. Overall, it was an average experience which I don't expect at the prices they charge.
