My first time having Chinese American food in New York. I ordered General Tso's chicken with fried rice. The flavoring was deliciously unexpected. I've never had a sauce that tasted like it. Both unique and a new favorite for me. The staff was pleasant, joking around and even wiped the tables down when things were caught up. Even had great conversations with complete strangers. One guest said she goes well out her way for the exceptional food quality. I highly recommend

I go here all the time. It’s the best Chinese I have had in the city. I have tried so many places and they don’t get it right but this place really knows how to do it. The food is so comforting. 5/5

My favorite Chinese Takeout place in chelsea. Never disappoints with that classic american chinese takeout vibe. So delish every time. TW: fluorescent overhead lighting

So if you are born n raised in NYC then you know this is a ghetto Chinese food spot. No tables or chairs and a Low health dept grade. That being said we used to have one in Chelsea on ninth Avenue that was amazing. The food was always fresh and tasty but they had a to close after a fire. This brings me to now, when I'm always struggling to find decent Chinese food in Chelsea that won't cost me an arm and leg. I decided to take a chance on Golden city. I wanted a smorgasbord of Chinese, so I ordered shrimp with broccoli, shrimp egg foo young, pork fried rice, shrimp lo mein, and two spring rolls. The first issue was all of the food looked gray as you can see in pictures from other customers I wish I would've came on Yelp before I ordered. Everything that I ordered that had baby shrimp in it meaning the lo mein and the egg foo young tasted sour. After I threw those out I ate the shrimp and broccoli because I was starving and it was OK. The pork fried rice tasted the better, but overall this experience made me left me feeling queasy. I will not be returning or ordering from this place again. I'd rather pay $20 for vegetable lo mein at Philip Chow. That is that. The one star is for the customer service by which I mean the people that answered the phone they were very nice.

I’m so sorry but all I ordered was 2 orders of crab sticks and an order of crab Rangoon. The crab sticks came smashed to pieces with the batter dry and mostly off of the crab sticks. Unacceptable two tiny side cups of tartar sauce that’s barely enough for two crab sticks. Yucky too never again. The sauce that came with the crab Rangoon made me puke instantly. Sorry if I spoiled your appetite however, FDA needs to investigate this place ASAP.

Walked 15 min got here at 11:10 to be told they’re closed. Despite having their hours online and in person saying they’re open. Really rude too. Oh well.

Just another generic Chinese takeout place. The quality is okay and the prices are pretty good - actually slightly lower than other Manhattan Chinese takeouts. The General Tso's chicken here is done very well - not too greasy and with the right amount of crispiness. If you are going to the Loews 34th Street movie theater down the block and want to sneak some Chinese takeout in, this is the place to go!

The shrimp here are the worst I ever had in my life. They literally taste like they just came out the ocean and so chewy like they were cooked for a hour or really old. They were friendly but I would never order again.
