Cute restaurant, American style food. Got the protein plate, with the biscuits and strawberry butter. Biscuits were unfortunately a bit dry/hard. The strawberry butter was good. The food itself was delicious and fresh. Service was friendly and quick.

It’s a nice place with great friendly staff, however I have had brunch there which was a little underwhelming and ordered some cherry pie on another occasion which in my opinion was poor.

Once was one of my favorite breakfasts in the UWS but quiet seems to have slipped as they started attracting more and more tourists. Still a cozy spot for classic diner breakfasts.

The food is bad, the service is bad... no idea why this place is still there."

Food was just okay. Not worth the price in my opinion.

The biscuits and waffles are served with strawberry butter by default - fine, but honestly not better than regular butter.

The servers were attentive and did a good job of refilling coffee without needing to ask for it! But I wouldn’t come here again for the food.

The pies were very disappointing. The pumpkin pie crust was super tough, and the filling tasted more like marshmallow than pumpkin. The cherry pie crust was tasteless.

Good enough to eat used to be the go to place for brunch on the weekends. Their food was excellent and there would be a line outside waiting to get in. Now it's a shadow of itself. The food is overpriced under spiced and the decor looks tired With paint chipping seats with holes on them.

Went for a Sunday brunch with the family, long wait outside and even longer for the food. Food was not more than average, and so was the service, many nicer options in the neighborhood

They don't have their s__t together. I'm not a first timer with them. But today they became a problem. The restaurant at Columbus Ave. & 85th St. is only 2+ blocks from my apt bldg on 83rd St., a 5-minute walk. I called them & placed my order for pancakes with strawberries, plus other items, having to repeat myself a few times even though the guy spoke fluent English. I was told the delivery would take 15--20 min. I called them after 1/2 hour, 45 min., etc., always being given bs excuses: "The driver was outside your bldg." No, he wasn't. "The driver got confused." "It's a new driver.", etc. Hey! It's a 5-minute walk! Finally, the delivery was made. The food by now was cold. Generous amounts but the pancakes did not include the strawberries. 3 long strips of thick bacon became harder to chew even for my 86-year-old teeth. I'll have check other restaurants for breakfast next time. I wish "House Of Pancakes" would open on the Upper West Side.

It's a good place! Food is solid. Better than a diner. Reliable. Busy.. salad was totally drenched, nothing to blow you away but just a nice solid place for breakfast.

I go to brunch at least 2 to 3 times a month. GETE has always been one of my favorite. I started going to this place in the late 80 early, and 90'ds after hopping on a Saturday morning.

Food left a lot of room for improvement. It was expensive and bland. The best thing was the strawberry butter. The home fries have almost no peppers and onions, and required adding a lot of pepper and some salt to give it sufficient flavor. The portions were fair, but not generous. The sausage I had was surprisingly bland. I appreciate their desire to source local goods.

Service was good, they cleaned our table promptly but did not make us feel rushed.

Atmosphere was nice. Interior is well decorated and spacious. The outdoor area was also organized well and provided space from people walking by.

Overall, it was an expensive breakfast that was not particularly noteworthy. I would likely not return.
