We stayed at Gray’s Papaya and loved it! We got 3 hot dogs with soda for 11.50 USD, really a bargain for New York. The sandwiches were great: well-grilled sausage, warm bread and tasty toppings — some homemade, much better than those at classic roadside kiosks.\n\nThe place is simple and fast, perfect for a tasty snack without spending too much. Try the famous papaya drink, symbol of the place.\n\nIn a nutshell: authentic, cheap and delicious, one of those historic places...
Small room without seating with standing tables. Spartan Service with continuous hot dogs that are really exquisite. You order the hot dog, choose what to dress it with, the drink (great papaya) and then pay. Prices are low and worth it.
I’ve waited years to go here and I can tell you it was definitely worth the wait. The best hotdog I’ve ever eaten. Walked all the way from Midtown and it was worth the walk. You can’t beat the prices.
