Good gay bar for a drink and they have tv’s, pool tables, and a Photo Booth. Small front porch like patio. good crowd on Sunday evening when I came today

If you like karaoke and people of color, this is your place.
They’ve definitely changed over the past few years. The inside feels outdated, it can use a good sprucing up and getting updated. The bar feels extremely stuffy, it can be difficult to move around, stand, or order a drink, without someone elbowing you or bumping into you. There’s a downstairs area as well, but it was closed when we visited. Drink prices are reasonable. They can benefit from having more LGBTQIA+ events, and not just sports. Service can be a hit or a miss.

Bartenders just stare at you. No conversation nothing but make sure to give you enough change to tip. Won't waste my money there again. Not very friendly or inviting

This gym is great. Close to home, easy access, Enida is always friendly at the front desk and Lili, the GM, is so helpful! I will keep coming here forever.
Beware Razia renewed my membership I told her I wanted the no contract 29.99 silver plan per month she gave me the 39.99 plan instead. It's very sneaky what she did. I am going to speak with the manager tomorrow I think she is getting hourly plus commission or needs to meet a quota. This is disgusting GOD IS WATCHING. MONEY DOESNT BUY HAPPINESS. $120 difference for the year.
The director of this gym is very rude.
I went on a Saturday evening around 7pm. The doorman was quite nice. The bartender though was rude, extremely indifferent. No smile - very curt in stating that credit cards require a two drink minimum. I found a $10 bill to pay for my $9 beer, and of course I was going to tip, but the bartender didn't even return for me to make the gesture of leaving a tip. He just took the money and didn't return. The crowd was typical, I'd say. They seemed to know each other. In all, Gym Bar is certainly not as friendly as Flex, where the bartenders are extremely friendly and where they even smile. I used to go to Gym Bar every time I was in NYC. I will not be going there again unless they have bartenders who at least feign a modicum of friendliness.

Restaurantji Recommends
First, the gym isn't open 24/7. The gym's air conditioner rarely worked here so it would be terribly hot. Equipment would be broken for long periods. Any time there was a problem, it took forever to get resolved. For example, I remember one time it took a month to replace the yoga mats and there were no yoga mats at all during that time.
There were also just small areas of this gym that smelled terrible, people who go here know exactly what I'm talking about.
Dumbbells were often not re-racked and when they were, they were never organized, it was often hard to find what you were looking for. The same goes for lighter-weight plates, 5 to 10-pound ones.
The only reason I didn't give this gym one star is that the people who work out here are nice and they have good-quality plates/barbells.
Unfortunately, there are not many better options in the Kew Gardens/forest hills area. If you're willing to venture out a bit, I recommend Crunch Fitness in Richmond Hill.
100 degrees inside, no one puts their weights back, broken equipment, no one cares how long their using equipment for and will frequently just sit on it. Typical New York dump.
Cancelling is impossible they are SCAMMERS. I went into the office to cancel they lied to my face and continued to charge me. Being on the phone is impossible as whoever you speak to can’t help you and only the manager can who is always conveniently out of the office.
I've been members of Planet Fitness, LA, and 24 Hour. To be frank, this place is a total dump. Maybe the worst gym I've ever been a member of. And yet, I have been going here for years because it is local, but am finally canceling my membership and will rather get more steps to walk to a better gym than deal with them anymore.
I acknowledge this is a basement location with an unusual floorplan, but it needs to either relocate to a better location, or a total refresh. A new AC and ventilation system would be a great place to start. Maybe a fresh coat of paint and new floor? Next, some of the machines are damaged and an accident waiting to happen. The locker rooms are dingy with broken equipment that never gets repaired (ie: the hand dryers that don't all work). In all the years I've been, they still can't figure out how to make a proper cleaning station with adequately stocked towels and bottles (ie: like Planet Fitness does)...not that the questionable clientele who frequent this location would use them, anyways, but for those of us who are respectful, it would be nice.
I'm not sure how 24 Hour is corporately structured...if this is a greedy franchise owner who simply doesn't care, or if it's typical corporate nonsense, but nothing would make me happier than to see a brand with better standards build another location in the area.
I think the only reason I would go back is if they improve and renovate, else they deserve to go out of business.
They have opened up the space and added a ton more machines. You used to have to sign up for machines and wait, when it was Bally's. That is no longer the case...plus many more improvements!
