I have to say I'm so sorry they're closed . I think they had a nightmare of landlord . Now I love gyros & I've tried all the gyro places around NYC including food carts & the famous halal guys ! No One & literally No One as good as Gyro96 . I can eat this food everyday & never have enough . I pray to see them back soon . No matter where in New York . I'll be there . Love Gyro96

Used to be out of this world, but has gone downhill over the last year. Gyros are usually good, but can be heavy on old lettuce in relation to the meat if you get unlucky. Staff is friendly and delivery is usually prompt.

I love this place. We get pick up or delivery from here all the time. Those are also your only options since you can't eat here. The food is delicious, high quality, and super cheap. I love the pita, hummus, chicken kabob, and spicy rice. The red and white sauces are also superb. This is gyro food at its best. Why is Gyro96 closed right now - can't wait for it to open once again.

Love this place. I think it's better than a food cart and cheap. No tables or anything, just a walk up spot, but I left satisfied. Will be back.

Hot sauce was good. Uneven portions. Not bad

We live right by Gyro96, so it is a convenient dinner option for us when we're craving Mediterranean food. The chicken kebab platter is filling and pretty delicious and is our favorite - the chicken has a nice spicy kick to it, and the combination of their ref and white sauce over rice is simply the perfect mix. I love gyro but was not as impressed with their gyro meat and tzatziki sauce, so I actually make my own tzatziki sauce now if I want a sauce for their meat. Service is very hit or miss. The first time I went, the chef was extremely rude and never smiled. The next time I went though, the service was great! This place is the definition of hole in the wall. There is always a small line. Takeout is your best option, as there are only one or two chairs there for people to eat or wait for food. The near thing is that they take both cash and card, but keep in mind that they charge tax if you use your credit card.

Hole in the wall. Literally. The chef always has a rude demeanor and terrible customer service. Gave this place the benefit of the doubt 3x and each time it wasn't a pleasant experience. Once I ordered over the phone for a pick up and when I got there 10 mins later I ended up waiting another 10 mins because the chef decided to give my order to another customer...‍. Overall, portions are small and expensive. Chicken is tasteless and bland. Try asking them for some extra sauce and they give you a dirty look or they simply just not do it. Kitchen looks very unsanitary and nasty if you ever peek in. Look else where for some better quality customer service and your Middle Eastern fix. Really not sure how they have an inflated rating but the 1-3 star reviews are spot on.

Gyro sandwich was fresh & delicious. It's a small take out place but they do have 2 high chairs in the front if you need to eat there. I will highly recommend this place!

Adds hot sauce to my order instead of barbecue after asking me a second time of what i wanted which was white sauce and barbecue. After paying the guy why doesn't he tell me he made the mistake before i get home to find out? How unprofessional went back and gave them the food. Never going back to that place.

The falafel balls are very good, but $2.50 for just three balls is too pricey. Also no tahini sauce even though it is supposed to come with it "we don't make it anymore".

A hole in the wall spot (literally), there is always a line in front and for good reason. Falafel and chicken salads and gyros are the main offering and they are satisfying and tasty. The produce may not be the highest quality, but the falafel and hummus make up for it. Exactly what you want from a take-out place and perfect for a filling and satisfying lunch.

Okay. I don't expect too much small the restaurant, but I don't know why this place has four stars. I understand it's like a street cart and needs to a rapid pace. But I ordered a combination plate. Asked for fries for $1 extra but they said no because you need to order on the side. But why would you put that on the menu? I understand that they put on the sign called dangerous people working, but I don't know why they have to be so rude to people who are merely trying to order food to go. How hard is it to be normal. It's not like I'm ignorant to them. But I think this place should be a little bit more careful handling customers. Overall, I do not recommend it. You should try the other place down the street or order online. Also, $8 for a combination plate is not the best price around here. I saw plenty $6 and $7 which is way better.

I got a very little portion of the chicken and lottts of rice! Cheap with their sauce! The gyro was good. Everything was fresh though. Would go again if around the hood and hungry.
