Amazing service, felt attended to at all times and everything came out in a orderly fashion and tasted amazing. Was never not satisfied at any point.
Fun time! Good food! Service was good.... Could have been more attentive... had to ask multiple times for a few things;
Anytime I come to NY I eat at Gym-kaku several times. It is one of my favorite restaurants ever! This trip the service wasn't the best. Tables were piled up with dishes, there seemed to be too few waiters and we waited a long time to get served and get the food. Overall I still loved it!
This was a fun place for something different. The food was great with a good variety. There was plenty of helpful staff . We left there saying we would like to go back again.
Super accueil et nourritures délicieuses. Peut-être un peu froid avec la ventilation mais normal pour les grill
Food was poor quality, restaurant seemed dirty. Music was so loud you could not hear the person sitting across the table from you. Server was kind and very prompt. Overall, do not recommend.
Experience was overall a good experience, the food was good but they could've given more Chicken Karage, I had to send it back because they tried to cheap my boyfriend and I out of chicken. One plate had smaller pieces than the other. But the waiter kept checking on us. She was kind but our last order took forever to come out even though they wasn't that busy. Our favorite restaurant, doesn't disappoint!
The food was good. Service was rushed. I dealt pressured to order pre-fix.. when I chose ala-carte the waitress began to clear the table before I had finished eating.
We went for all-you-can eat and the least expensive course was more than enough for us. I think it was a good deal.
Amazing! I've only ever had Korean BBQ and this was even better. The flavors, the sides, the taste and quality of the meat. I would eat here over and over again if my wallet could afford it. So delicious. Must try!

Great as usual. Service wasn't as good as usual. And we weren't a fan of the specials prix-fix menu. But overall, we loved it.
I gave one star to thank Mae Mae service. Her entire face that day was like I don't wanna be here and I don't want yall be here as well cuz I'm gonna eliminate this world later. And after we told her we are not gonna order all we can eat, her face looks even worse like she's gonna eat us alive. The scissor they gave us are like Lego, it can break anytime like Mae's face. So if yall trynna bring yall kids to this place, keep them away from that scissor. Last thing, when I went out the restaurant, I saw a mouse went into the front counter. I told the white male waiter immediately, his face was calm af like he knew there are hundreds of them in their kitchen and this naughty one just here say hi with you🙄 the service is terrible but the food is good, we ordered beef rib, chicken thigh, spicy chicken and beef slices.
Gyu-Kaku is my favorite restaurant, I've visited locations in NYC, Miami, and Charlotte & always receive excellent service. I consistently order the same drink: The Lychee Gin Mojito with tequila instead of gin, & I've never had an issue with a simple liquor substitution. However, on 6/27/25 around 9:30pm at the Times Square location, the bartender Will was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. He insisted I'd be charged for Patron, even though I never requested a premium brand but only just a swap of house liquor. When I explained my experience at other locations, he ignored me and walked away. As a fellow bartender, I found his attitude unprofessional and frankly discriminatory. His behavior made me feel unwelcome and ruined my experience at a place I've long enjoyed. I won't return to this location, and I hope Gyu-Kaku takes steps to ensure all guests are treated with respect and fairness—regardless of race. So disappointed this was my first time at the Times Square location & will NEVER be back. Go to Flushing! They are wonderful there.
By far the best Korean BBQ I’ve ever had. Highly recommended this restaurant! I love them. Coco Mo my favorite Drink.
My family and I dined here yesterday to celebrate my brother completing his training for the CBP. This is one of his favorite places to eat and he's really been looking forward to coming here once he returned home. I've been going to Gyu-Kaku since 2016 and had pleasant experiences at all the locations I've been to. I've been to this location many times, so I was shocked and disappointed at the service we received that night. My reservation was originally for 10, but dropped down to 7. They were still able to accommodate us nonetheless. We were seated in a cramped corner with one grill. A female server took our order for drinks and was never seen again. After asking were the original server, we were told that they switched out for the night (which was understandable, but we wish we were told when it happened). My family and I ordered things a la carte. The portion sizes were small, the beef sukiyakis were mushy (we sent them back), the drinks tasted like they've been watered down with either club soda or water, and the food kept getting burnt because the flames were too high. On top of that, the service was slow and the server kept either bringing us the wrong items trying to pass it off as our items, or forgetting what we ordered. When it came time to pay the bill (which was over $350), we only wanted to leave a $30 tip since the food and service were bad. We were then told for the FIRST time that parties of our size would be charged a mandatory 20% gratuity. Mind you, this was not stated on our receipt or any of the menus. We asked to speak to the manager (who was cold and rude) since we felt like we shouldn't be obligated to pay so much for subpar food and service. When she didn't want to help and became combative with us, we then asked to escalate this to the general manager. The general manager then had the audacity to lie and say that the hostess told me this before seating us. We were waiting 10 minutes for them to put the table together, and at no time during that period did anyone mention this to us. We ended up paying at the end because we didn't want to cause a scene.
These people took what was supposed to be a celebration and turned it into one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. I truly hope that this isn't the direction that this restaurant chain isn't heading towards. I would sincerely think twice before visiting this location.
