Amazing sweet beans; going back soon for the corn pudding! Served from a cart on the sidewalk with a ladle from large thermal jugs. Easy to imagine this on a street corner in the DR.

I got a corn drink-no se como se llama-that was really good and a majorette that was to die for. I was told this is the best spot for habichuelas con dulce. That being said, I guess it is not for me, then. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this place ?

Habichuelas con dulce. A national drink of the Dominican Republic, usually made during Easter.Sold for years in this corner by Nena a mainstay in the Dominican Community. Who was really sweet.A constant line of folks come and go. I was lucky and had no wait. As I heard some days, the lines are pretty longThe spot is pretty popular. On the day I went, there was media as well.Made with red beans, cinnamon, nutmeg, coconut milk, evaporated milk, and dunked with milk cookiesThis drink is great. It's almost like hot chocolate but not quiet. It's warm , silky smooth little nutty, creamy and sweet. It'a known as a deseert as well.It does have a holiday drink vibe to it.Habichuelas means beansThe drink is $2. They also sell a corn based dessert. Looked popular. Will get it next time.

I traveled an hour from Brooklyn to buy sweet beans after watching a reel about it. And what a waste of time! The beans tasted like pure sweet cloves and the majarete only tasted like cinnamon. And I didn't like the grains that the beans had either.
For me for 22 years they are the best sweet beans, no matter what they say and my respect to Nani and Doña who always have a thousand loves with everyone!

It's smoked, without sweet potatoes, without grains, it's not how a Dominican would like it! Make everything you need and charge more, simple! The Dominican likes good things, not cheap things!
Unacceptable street environment.
