I was not disappointed at all, even though I had to wait ~15 minutes for a solo counter seat. I had the fried onion burger, and it was beautifully cooked. The fries are McDonald's style, double fried. The key lime pie was also worth getting. Considering I had all that and a diet coke for under $25, in Manhattan, I was impressed.

Banging burger my goodness. Get the grilled PB&J to be transferred to a new dimension. Only issue is the seating in the back sucks but I won't hold it against them because the countertop bar is dope

Five Guys and Shake Shack Killer?? As a devoted follower of culinary trends on YouTube, stumbling upon Hamburger America was like uncovering a hidden treasure in the vast sea of burger joints. With whispers of its origins tied to a popular YouTuber, my curiosity peaked, and I embarked on a journey to taste the hype for myself. Spoiler alert: I was far from disappointed. From the moment I stepped foot inside, the buzz of anticipation was palpable. Despite the initial warning of a 30-minute wait, my hunger was quickly appeased as I found myself seated in a mere five minutes--a testament to the efficiency and popularity of this establishment. Opting for the triple onion burger and fries, I was met with a symphony of flavors and textures that exceeded my wildest expectations. The potato bun, a humble yet essential component, proved to be the perfect vessel for the culinary masterpiece that awaited within. Soft, yet resilient, it cradled the smashed patties with a delicate touch, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience. Speaking of the patties, they were nothing short of extraordinary. Juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor, each bite was a revelation. The crispy edges, a hallmark of expert craftsmanship, provided the perfect Maillard effect--a harmonious marriage of caramelized perfection and savory satisfaction. And let's not forget about the fries. Reminiscent of fast-food favorites, yet elevated to a realm of their own, these golden delights were a symphony of crispness and freshness--a welcome accompaniment to the star of the show. In summary, Hamburger America is not just a burger joint--it's a culinary masterpiece in its own right. With flavors that rival industry giants like Shake Shack and Five Guys, it's clear that this establishment has earned its place among the elite. If you're in search of a burger experience that transcends the ordinary, look no further--Hamburger America awaits, ready to satisfy even the most discerning of palates.

Got 2 single patty classic smash burgers all the way and one double fried onion burger and two orders of shoestring fries. The classic smash burger all the way was the cheese burger of my dreams. It was perfect and I couldn't ask for anything more. The fries were also very good. The fried onion burger was spectacular. We also got iced tea and a chocolate egg cream. Don't skip on the chocolate egg cream - it's tasty. We will be back soon.

I like George Motz and his videos. Although I believe the food is likely delicious, unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to try it. On 03/28/24, a Thursday evening around 7:20 PM, we arrived and were directed to wait in line by a gentleman. He informed us of a 15-minute wait for a counter seat, knowing there were two parties ahead of us. We waited on the right side, near the pictures, for about 20 minutes. However, we noticed others being seated ahead of us. When I inquired about the wait time again, the gentleman reiterated there would be two more parties ahead of us. Despite explaining that we had been waiting before the new group, he disagreed and referred the matter to his supervisor. Unfortunately, the supervisor was unaware of our wait time, as it was the gentleman's responsibility to track. Instead, the supervisor was preoccupied conversing with the cashier, losing track of the queue. Rather than prolonging the argument and potentially enduring a further wait, we decided to leave. I also asked him kindly to check the cameras or asked the lady who was seated because we came in together. But he wouldn't and resorted to bad customer service.

I really enjoy eating Hamburger America. When this place opened, I was the third person in line. I've been eating there ever since. I love the Fried Onion Burger. The fries are delicious as long as you eat them while they are hot. There is a secret sandwich on the menu that is also very good. I've tried every meal on the menu and it's all been good. The place tends to be very busy during lunch and the weekends are a tourist attraction. Shout out to George Motz for bringing this burger joint to the city.

Not the typical person to give a bad review. I love George Motz and was excited to try the Hamburger America. The ambiance was great and I liked the selections on the menu. Starting off on a positive note, the egg salad and coffee milk were amazing. When I first walked in and noticed George wasn't there, I was suspicious of the burgers were gonna be of the same standard without him. Sadly they weren't as good as his typical burgers. The onions were barely fried and only slightly cooked. The burger had no char to it at all. The ingredients were good but I wouldn't label it as an "Oklahoma fried onion burger". I tried to message them but no luck so figured to shine a light on that aspect. I hope to be back soon and try again.

The wait on a Sunday evening for an early-ish dinner was surprisingly long. When our party of two had arrived, there was already a line for the counter that was outside the door. I was surprised to find a supposedly quick burger meal with a line out the door. Staff here mention the option to order at the kiosk and seat yourself, but also make note that there is generally very slim capacity in the back. Regardless, due to the wait at the surrounding areas and our hankering to try a new simple burger joint, we begrudgingly and hangrily obliged. Counter service is a real treat--you get to watch all the cooks do their magic with the smash burgers. Maybe I was just overjoyed to be one step closer to my food, but I want to say the food came out quicker for us as well. My thoughts as a native Californian loyal to In-n-out but properly satisfied by 7th street burger-- Single cheeseburger - good, but not great. this was nothing out of this world, contrary to a local resident who was beaming with joy and a new sense of awe while she slowly savored her burger with every little bite she decided to eat as slowly as possible. "It's the BEST burger I've ever had!" she glowed. With that reputation high and my expectations low, I was rather caught in the middle. While it was, a tasty smash burger, there was nothing more I could say about it. Onion cheeseburger - now this was more unique. The carmelization of the onions enrobed the beef and cheese with the most tender, sweet, and umami like touch. It was comfort in a burger--small, but unsuspectingly mighty. I would probably ownly opt for this upon return. Fries - one size only-a bit small for my taste (my partner guzzles them by the handfuls so naturally they are even more of a rare commodity), but were deliciously crispy (the first batch at least, the second--spoiled the vavavoom factor for me). They are reminiscent of the Famous McD's fry-although i would've argued before the second batch, more consistent. Half and half was okaaayyy-too much tea, lemonade was a bit too sour. A lady from the same party as ever had harped on about the spectacuarlity of the the "FRESHLY SQUEEZED!" delicacy. Alas--I cannot tell if I am a merely a snob of the juices squeezed from a lemon, or she might need to be exposed to more options! Overall--hamburger america, you are a cheaper dinner in NY, which tickles our fancy, but with the wait, I would just go to 7th street. If on one of these days I'm hungrily craving some beef as I'm sitting watching the amateur DJ's in Washington Square park and am over the noise of it all, and you do not discourage me with a line out the door, I will return!

Yummy Yummy burger in my tummy!Got the Motz Double Onion Burger prepared by George Motz himself! Perfectly smashed patties with thinly sliced onions cooked until they get caramelized. Watching him cook the burger was so cool. The man is a burger maestro! Also got the fries on the side, which were very good. No free refills on the soda FYI.I was too shy to take pictures (snuck one in) since he was cooking right in front of me and I was a bit starstruck! Sit at the counter if you have a chance because it’s an amazing experience!

Good burger place. The service is amazing at this place, they treat you in the best way along with entering. As for the hamburgers, they did not meet my expectations, but in my opinion I think that I myself expected more from a chef who traveled throughout the United States in search of the best hamburger in the country.but they are NOT bad burgers, I have to make the point. They have very good meat, a rich seasoning and delicious bread.

So much fun- crowded with burger lovers. Burgers are flavorful, fries are great, love the vibe of the restaurant. I also like the egg salad on toast- hits just right when I am not in the mood for a burger
