Every time I order from here I always end up with a stomach ache and have constant diarrhea or constipation their tuna cucumber rolls don’t taste right and I fear that it’s not even tuna

Very okay food. Great atmosphere and service. But the food wasn't great (sushi or the katsu). Portions were huge, so great bang for buck... But again, the food was uninspired. I'd recommend a different Japanese place.

sushi was nice and I enjoyed the outdoor seating, but service wasn't great: the waiter was very inattentive, and though we asked for extra ginger multiple times we didn't receive any, and they really didn't ask us if we were doing alright like most places do to ask for more. really solid vegetarian options compared to most places.

Have to say I’m not the complaining type at all, but I brought someone from the country Georgia to try sushi for the first time - I’m also new to neighborhood ( from UWS) and sushi rolls were AWFUL….and I ordered very average rolls- impossible to screw up …just terrible… thankfully he had nothing to compare it with but I was really disappointed …. Appears to be geared towards high school kids in neighborhood…not adults with standards

The Salmon Four Ways was delicious. The Boba Thai Tea was ok. The Fried Ice Cream was good even though the outside was not crispy.

In terms of service, the waitresses at Hane 1st Ave. need to get their act together. I worked in restaurants for many years, both as a waiter and a bartender. I knew the deal. When it gets busy, you step it up. Busier: You step it up even more. These waitresses don't seem to know this simple wait-staff/bartender canon.

I weathered their bad service once again tonight, because my 2 adult kids wanted sushi, and we've been going to Hane since they can remember. I'd rather go elsewhere. I suggested Gen Korean House BBQ. I was willing to walk all the way to 3rd and 14th just to avoid the service at Hane. I didn't win. So off to Hane we go unfortunately.

I don't know why, but the waitresses don't even make an attempt to greet you at the table. Is that a Japanese thing? And on this near-ninety degree day, I needed water like - SOON after seating. But no... As usual, it takes an inordinate amount of waiting just to get served a glass of water. About 10 minutes after being seated, we finally get water - but no waitress. Waiting... waiting... waiting... no waitress still - to take the expected usual drink order first. Nope. Waiting some more... and then finally... after 25 minutes after being seated, the dour, no personality, no 'greeting' waitress comes - to take our whole order. No drinks before din-din here again, per usual...

The food came nicely after we ordered. The Shumai came in about 10 minutes, and soon after we finished that, the pork Gyozo arrived. Good timing. Then a 15 minute wait for the sushi entrees for the kids and my chicken Katsu. All good.

Unfortunately, my daughter wanted to order the Crème Brûlée for dessert. Sounds nice, let's go for it. My mistake. THAT took about 25 minutes to receive. TWENTY FIVE MINUTES. We waited and waited... The kids didn't seem to mind, as they were talking about their favorite topic: Anime and games. Great. They're in it deep, while I'm just wanting to get out. But... wait for the Crème Brûlée we must. ...and wait ...and wait. I even asked the waitress, when it finally came, what took so long for the Brûlée? "The chefs are busy..." - straight out of the wait-staff handbook.

Avoid Hane if you expect normal, congenial, reasonable service. All I can say...

I have particularly high standards when it comes to food. When it comes to sushi I am even more critical. Although there are better sushi restaurants in New York, Hane passes my high standards test. The food is always delicious and fresh. The atmosphere can get noisy but what else would you expect. You won’t find many bargains here , with the exception of the lunch specials. If you are on a budget, check them out, you will be hard pressed to find better options elsewhere.

Affordable Japanese fusion food, I ordered a sushi and Sashimi mix, the food was fresh but since it’s my first sashimi I find it a bit weird to eat, from where I came from they usually serve say sauce to give it a flavor, but I only get some ginger and wasabi, over all the food is good and I paid around 30$

1- Food = 5/5. Excellent. All of the food here is very fresh and served perfectly. Sushi is fresh and all foods fried is cooked using only fresh oil. Soups are very well seasoned and dumplings are plump and crispy.
2- Service = 5/5. Excellent. Greeted warmly at the door and the server gives you everything you need at a timely fashion.
3- Ambiance = 5/5 Excellent. Beautiful restaurant that was recently renovated. Plenty of space for dinners to enjoy a meal.
4- Reservations = 5/5. Excellent. Make a reservation or you might end up waiting a bit. Place is kinda busy at times.
5- Value = 5/5. Excellent. Judging from the freshness and presentation of there beautiful dishes combined with there excellent service makes this place a screaming value.
Been coming here for around 15 years now. Will continue recommending and will obviously return.
