My favorite bartender is Steven M. First off he is an amazing bartender and does his job so well. Always knows my drink before I come thru the door. Secondly he is an amazing person and human being. One of the greatest people I know

I've come here after BARS kickball now twice (Sunday afternoons) and I've had a good experience. Bartenders were friendly enough and the place is well air-conditioned. Each time the prices were good, especially getting a 16-ounce Blue Moon for $5 (unheard of). I also appreciate that there's way more space and indoor seating here than at DBL. It seems to me that this place is well suited for a relaxed, social drinking experience with simple highballs or draft beer; I haven't been on a Friday or Saturday night looking to dance and I haven't ordered a signature cocktail, so I can't speak on that

Nolan at the bar was simply disrespectful and rude. It was a quiet evening and we spend so much money and being treated as such was a big disappointment.

Always a good time at Hardware, especially if Shequida is performing. The bartenders aren’t usually the friendliest (why I’m giving 4 stars). The server however is very sweet. Drinks are reasonable priced and there’s usually a large selection, but they definitely tend to be on the weaker side. Unlike places like Pieces, this venue is large and features a lot of seating as well as 2 bathroom options which is great. Overall, I recommend, especially for their nightly drag shows.

Went for the first time last night and honestly—this place just doesn’t cut it compared to other gay bars in Hell’s Kitchen. Paid $15 for a drink in a flimsy plastic cup that was only half-filled. Two sips and it was gone. On top of that, the alcohol was so watered down I could barely taste it. What a rip-off. Totally underwhelming vibe, too. You’re better off heading to Rise or Industry—more energy, more people, and actual drinks that feel worth the price. Won’t be coming back.

Disappointing Experience at Hardware
I recently visited Hardware with high hopes for a fun night out, but unfortunately, it turned into quite the opposite. I was excited to try their signature cocktails, but what I received instead felt like a letdown.
Security is a very nice guy. The bartender is a loser I hope he gets fired for his vodka cocktails when you ask for a Negroni
The bartender seemed to have a different idea of quality. The drinks tasted off, almost as if they were made with cheap substitutes rather than the fresh ingredients promised on the menu. It left me questioning the integrity of the establishment and the honesty of the staff.
To my shock, when I raised my concerns about the quality of the cocktails, I was met with disbelief. It escalated to the point where I was asked to leave the venue, simply because I am a woman. This disrespectful treatment was not only unacceptable but also deeply frustrating. I felt marginalized and dismissed, as if my voice didn’t matter.
Every customer deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of gender. I believe that Hardware should reflect on its policies and ensure that all patrons receive fair treatment. Perhaps some training on inclusivity and customer service could help restore trust and create a more welcoming atmosphere.
I hope my experience was just an unfortunate anomaly, and that future guests do not encounter the same issues.
My iPhone was stolen out of my purse while on the dance floor at Hardware. No one there cared as they said it happens nightly. Sadly, my phone was not the only one stolen that night. The stolen phones were immediately turned off and not able to be located on Find My iPhone. Obviously a “professional thief” working his magic. If you choose to frequent this bar, do so with extreme caution!!!!!!
Great music, but I didn't like it last weekend. I arrived a little late and before going to the dance floor I ordered a drink. Just by looking at the color of the cup I knew it wasn't the drink I had ordered. I asked if it was really my drink and the person said yes. Since I paid by card I had to pay for another drink. I tried the drink and left. I don't know what the waiter's head was going through. When he realized I was from another country he ignored me. I don't speak English very well, but every nightclub I go to they manage to get me the drink I want. It was an experience I won't go back to and I won't recommend it to anyone.

Great drag shows. But if you are a POC, be aware this is mostly a white space. Have encountered a few racist and unfriendly gays a few times.
The Friday night music was so great, The DJ is great two, love the decoration and the atmosphere and vibes there ! Definitely will come back soon!!!
Great shows
Nestled in Hell’s Kitchen, Hardware NYC delivers intimate drag performances and solid hospitality. A smaller crowd on a rainy Thursday night made the experience more personal and enjoyable.
Ambience: Chill and cozy vibes. Despite the smaller turnout, the bar’s energy didn’t disappoint.
Decor: Classic and understated, with a focus on the stage for performances.
Crowd: Low-key due to the weather, but this made for a more intimate experience.
Drinks: Good service with attentive bartenders who ensure patrons are well cared for.
Entertainment: The highlight of the evening was the drag shows. Sabel Scities delivered an electrifying performance that left the crowd wanting more. They rotate drag performers daily, so there's always something new to see.
Music: Complementary to the performances and not overpowering.
Pro Tips: Check the lineup for drag shows ahead of time to catch your favorites. Even if the crowd is small, the quality of the entertainment makes up for it.
Overall: Hardware NYC shines with its stellar drag performances and excellent service. It’s a cozy spot to enjoy a fun night out, even on quieter evenings.

Babes, this bar is EVERYTHING! The drag queens? Pure glam, pure talent, pure sass. The pop music? Nonstop bangers only! And don’t get me started on the bartenders, straight-up smokeshows serving cocktails as fabulous as they are. Friendly, flirty, and downright delicious. If you’re not here, where are you even?!
