As a Peruvian, I’m always a bit picky when it comes to our traditional dishes — but I was blown away! Both the ceviche and jalea prepared by Chef Gabriel were absolutely exquisite and truly authentic. Every bite brought me right back home. Thank you, Chef, for honoring the flavors of Peru so beautifully! 💗
The friendly and professional service of the staff, along with the excellent cuisine, make this restaurant a top-notch place. We’ll be coming back again — and this isn’t our first time!
Harlemite Peruvian was such a pleasant surprise—a real hidden gem! The ceviche came in a light, soupy broth that caught me off guard at first, but the flavor was bright and citrusy, and the fish was super fresh. The arroz chaufa (Peruvian fried rice) was outstanding—even for someone who usually skips rice. We liked it so much, we ordered takeout a few nights later, and everything was just as good. The wings were perfectly cooked and flavorful, and the sweet plantains were caramelized to perfection.
And I have to mention the sangria—fresh, well-balanced, and not overloaded with syrupy sugar or artificial liqueurs that usually guarantee a headache. You can actually taste the fruit and wine!
Bonus points for the garden out back—so cute and cozy. Harlemite is officially on my go-to list.
Beautiful place and attentive servers but the food was bland, had very little salt.
The food is delicious and the service is fantastic! I had the ginger mint lemonade and the camarones Al ajillo. Highly recommend both!
We just celebrated my daughter’s college graduation and we are grateful to all the staff at Harlemite, especially the chef Gabriel Vargas…from the moment we met he made us feel welcomed…the food, the decor was to our greatest expectation….I woke up today to read the most amazing thank you notes from our family and friends telling me how great they felt at Harlemite….A little gem in the heart of Harlem….great Peruvian food but most important the most welcoming fun and attentive staff.
I am experiencing extremely loud music coming from the patron around 9:40pm. The noise is so intense that my windows are physically shaking, and it's disrupting my ability to sleep. This happens frequently and lasts pass 10PM
Good food, good service, cute space. Really delicious, Hugo Spritz! Nice addition to the neighborhood. You should go
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Their cuisine is top notch, top notch. I recommend people visit Harlemite, fresh seafood and authentic lomo saltado. You won’t regret it.

I ordered to pick up a whole roast chicken with rice and salad and a side of fried yuca or cassava. The chicken was burn and challenging to eat. I will not recommend to get roast chicken at this place.
