Had lunch at Harry’s Steakhouse in the Financial District and the food was excellent. I ordered the lamb curry and the hangar steak—both were cooked well and had great flavor.
The only downside was the wait. It took longer than expected for the food to come out, especially for a weekday lunch when timing matters.
Still, the quality of the dishes made it worth it, and I’d go back, just maybe not when I’m in a rush. Overall, a solid 4-star experience.

We visited from Boston and took our adult daughter to Harry's for lunch. My father used to eat there regularly thirty years ago. We loved the updated atmosphere - just enough old-world charm and stodginess mixed with new lighting music and art. The crowd was lively and mixed. We enjoyed excellent food and service.
I went to Harry's for my birthday dinner while visiting NYC in May 2025. Everything was absolutely perfect. Best beef wellington I've ever had. The service was outstanding. The drinks were delicious and the creme brulee topped everything off. I plan to dine there everytime I visit NY. I would recommend to any and everyone.
My wife and I really enjoy dining at Harrys when in the financial district. I had the beef Wellington, which is by far the best Wellington I've ever had, and they took excellent care of my wife who has gluten and dairy allergies. If you go, definitely ask to be seated in Bebely, Mario, and Agustin's section as they were absolutely fabulous. It's one thing to have excellent food, which Harrys has, but service is always what separates the best from the rest.
What can you say about this place that hasn’t been said before. Been to both locations and never disappoints. Food is amazing. Wine list is top tier. I have to say one of our servers seemed like he didn’t want to be there and the type that smiles to your face but then talks crap about you in the back but what can ya do. Either way, love this place. Certainly, will be back again. Just an amazing place to eat and enjoy some great wine. Oh, and the cocktails are amazing too!
Food was pretty good, but service was terrible. No one check in on us. Had to flag servers down for silverware, forgot a dish we ordered, had to practically beg for our check. If paying this price, just go to Delmonicos.
Great spot! We really enjoyed the atmosphere — cozy and welcoming — and the seating was comfortable too.
We ordered a burger and a sandwich, and both were tasty, with the sandwich standing out as our favorite.
The burger was a classic, but the flavors were well-balanced, and the meat was especially good — juicy and flavorful.
Great staff, very attentive to the client, Bone-In NY Strip was cooked for perfection and had multiple wait staff to take care of my table. Was offered the reserve menu for bottle service and was impressed by the vast selection.

I absolutely loved ambiance, service and good. It was magical! I will definitely dine here again when I visit NYC.
I chose Harry’s because it is located in the historicallly significant India House. It was my 6th wedding anniversary. I wish I had not. I was hoping for a perfect experience; it was less than perfect. The meat was not as tasty as a ribeye should be. My red wine was served in a white wine glass. When I pointed it out the explanation was minimizing & insulting. Bread was not served; had to ask. Server started clearing the table while my husband was still eating. Clearing continued even though I pointed this out. The money spent was not in alignment with the dining experience expected.
Very warm and cozy atmosphere, where you feel like at home. Inviting italian menù, excellent italian dishes. The staff was friendly, attentive and very professional. We definitely recommend It, and we hope to come back again.
Evening dinner Not the best or worst meal I have ever eaten Had the Greek salad , which was awful, smoothed in a strong ginger dressing and hardly any feta For such a nice restaurant, no bread rolls were offered during our meal Cheesecake was ok, but nothing on the menu said it had cream with it . Never once asked if we had any allergies or intolerances . Will not be returning
We were in NY visiting family. We found ourselves in the area of Harry's Bar on a blustery cold NY day. Decided to go in for late lunch. Our first visit obviously and the restaurant is beautiful. Mercedes M was our server and she took wonderful care of us. We ordered: the Hanover steak & cheese sandwich, the dry aged burger, grilled chicken Caesar salad, and Chicken Paillard which was delicious served with field greens, walnuts and goat cheese. Several Irish coffees were ordered to warm us up from the cold weather. It was a great end to an afternoon of sightseeing.
