Extremely Disappointed — My Son Was Served Raw Food and Treated Unfairly
I live in this community and have supported local businesses for over eight years, but what happened recently with this restaurant was completely unacceptable and heartbreaking.
I sent my 11-year-old son to pick up food, and I stayed on the phone with him the entire time. They told him the total was $31. He let them know he only had $30, and then they suddenly changed the price to $28.95. He paid that amount, but when he got home, we noticed they had removed a piece of chicken from his platter — without telling him.
Later, I called to ask why his order had only 3 pieces of chicken instead of 4. They claimed they asked him if he was okay with just 3. That was a lie — I was on the phone with him the entire time and no such question was ever asked. My son is only 11. They took advantage of that. That’s unacceptable in any community, but especially a struggling one where people are just trying to get by. To make matters worse, the rib tips they served him were undercooked. He’s now feeling sick. I’ve already contacted the health department, and if his condition gets worse, I will be taking him to the hospital. Food safety is not something you play with. I did call back upset, and I admit I spoke out of frustration — I was emotional, because this is my child we’re talking about. I did not call anyone names, nor was I racist in any way. I simply pointed out that if a business can’t serve or support the community it’s in, especially when it comes to children, then maybe it’s not the right place for them. Instead of hearing my concerns, the woman on the phone twisted my words, accused me of threatening her, and said she was recording me. She never once acknowledged the issue or tried to understand what happened.
This isn’t about a piece of chicken — it’s about principle, safety, and respect. My son wasn’t short $10 — he was short a dollar. And instead of showing compassion, they took food away from a child. If your business is truly loved by the community, show that love back.
To all the hardworking families in this neighborhood — especially those living paycheck to paycheck — please be careful. Don’t send your kids there alone. Go in person if you must, or better yet, take your business somewhere else. I highly recommend Empire instead. Their service and food quality are far better, and I’ve never had to worry about my child being treated unfairly.
This experience has left a terrible taste in my mouth — literally and emotionally. I will never support this restaurant again, and I urge others in our community to think twice before spending your money here.
Good as always, the workers/owners are welcoming and professional. Portions have got smaller but that’s almost all establishments now.

Their wings are little and skinny, their curry chicken had 3 pieces of chicken and the rest was onions, plus the curry was watery. They gave a small rice for a large order of curry chicken. If i could give zero stars, i would. I'm disheartened by this place because I used to go to this restaurant as a teen. The place has new owners and it shows. The quality of the food is not what you pay for.
THIS IS THE WORST CHINESE FOOD WE HAVE EVER HAD! 😠THE DUMPLINGS WERE CHEWY, EGG ROLL LIKE RUBBER, IT MUST HAVE BEEN FRIED OVER AND OVER AGAIN. THE BEEF AND BROCCOLI WAS SOGGY AND OVERCOOKED AND YHE BONELESS SPEAR RIBS WAS TERRIBLE! $50 IN YHE GARBAGE!! VERY VERY ANNOYED AND DISGUSTED! 🤮

Waited 20 minutes for half chicken and tostontes, just to get old chicken and thin greasy plantains. Why have me wait so long just to get old food. I'm so disappointed because I was really in the mood for some good fried chicken and plantains. Never again, next time I'll just walk to St Nicholas
The food was burned, tasteless and instead of wings they substituted, without my permission, some kind of knots. I’m disappointed because I’ve been eating here over 20 years. The food and service (delivery guy refused to talk to me in English. He spoke to me in English last week when he delivered my food. Never again. Shame me once shame on you I’m 79 and not allowed to use the stove. You broke my heart and I no longer like your staff.

It's a NYC hood Chinese spot. The atmosphere lacks luster (one booth-style table, atm, bulletproof acrylic window), but the food and service are good. The staff is friendly and the food is made in a decent time frame. All in all, one of my go-to spots in the neighborhood.
