Ordered milk tea, hoping to get a Hong Kong style one (very concentrated black tea base with condensed milk). What I get is a tea bag infused in hot water with fresh milk. Not expect English milk tea in Chinatown. Totally disappointed. (Also with the lady's poor service)
Looks like a classic Hongkongese/ cantonese bakery. Maybe bread or other stuff is ok, but milk tea is definitely not authentic one.
its the only place now with a good pork/dried shrimp crumble, oil seared scallion and sesame sprinkled rice noodle roll. the ladies working are par for such an establishment. it might take a bunch of trips but once youve become familiar with no negative encounters to speak of... they are noticeably better with interaction.
Always consistent and delicious I get the rosted pork buns affordable and filling , all there other goods have to be delicious I get a shredded pork bun too I love this place
Great rice noodle rolls. Local shop
Right across from the Cheung Fun Cart so it’s a great spot to grab a bun or two while you’re waiting in line. The offerings are pretty average and the taste is the same. Serviceable but nothing special. It’s your typical Hong Kong style bakery. Naturally, cash only.
Ho Won Bake Shoppe has stood the test of time, and the food has maintained its consistent taste, earning it a solid 4-star rating from me. However, there is room for improvement in customer service. I noticed they is no transparency with the ingredients on each item, which would be beneficial and important for customers with food allergies or sensitivities to avoid any potential issues. Additionally, there was a language barrier, as no one there understood English, leading me to intervene to reassure a customer that there were no peanuts in the sesame ball. The ambiance is not a significant factor as it's more of a grab-and-go spot.
Overall, I had a positive experience and I would consider returning.

Food is average. Nothing to write home about. Inquired about the price, ordered my foods, paid , received the change back and my foods all in under 2 minutes. But these 2 minutes are enough for me to leave this bad review. Needs better customer service.

Rice noodle roll getting worst as price increased, inconsistence on how the rolls are made, the main rice wrapper today was not fresh, service bad as usual. 腸粉越做越差!!

Did you know their rice dumpling bags come with steel wool for cleaning! This is the third time I have discovered... it is very dangerous to eat your internal organs.

??It looks very old and shabby from the outside, but don't let that mislead you! The place is very tasty. There are many people, everyone is standing in line for fresh pies. The pastries are fresh and warm. The prices are very nice. 1.75 for a meat pie ?Curry chicken pie ??, fried, somewhat similar to our bazaar bialashi.Cake with coconut ? , I don't know what else is there besides coconut, but it's very tasty.Rice noodle roll ?, tender and tasty. There is still a lot left to try, for example, a pie with melon ? and with pineapple ? - have you even heard of such a thing?I will definitely recommend this place to my friends.

You know that their zhong zi are fresh when they're stuffing them right at the store front!! However, the pineapple bun was one of the worst I've had-- dry and bland. Their chinese egg tart on the other hand was pretty decent.

Roast pork bun, $1.75. I'd give it a 7/10. Would like more meat to bun ratio. I did like this over Mei Lai Wah as this had more lean pork than fatty pork.
