Delicious food, but I found the portion sizes for brunch laughably small and wildly non-filling.

oguish American food shop with an upscale ambiance and serving environment that make for a good dinner spot if looking to be a bit more formal/celebrate the occasion albeit with a bit of a small portioned entree selection. The famous garlic bread however is worth the app and they have a real solid burger. $30 a dish. 3.75/5 stars as a dinner spot.

French onion was great. Burger was good. Fish was pretty bad we didn't eat it. Caesar salad was good. Baked potato wasn't worth eating. Not bad but in a city with endless options not likely to return.

What an incredible vibe. I frequently pass this place and I finally stopped for dinner. Best martini with BLUE CHEESE OLIVES! Amazing caviar, crisps and crudo. Salmon and sea bass were extraordinary! Definitely recommend

I love this place! Have been several times since it opened and cannot recommend it enough. The service is always great. I love the respect the loaded baked potato gets here! And the martini is fabulous! Excellent for a good date night or a more upscale place to grab a drink and bite to eat!

Such an UES gem, great for a post-Met dinner or a weeknight out. The simple, still delicious American-y menu (lots of raves for the garlic bread, and rightfully so) and cozy, neighborhood vibe feel so rare in Manhattan nowadays.

Enjoyed the French Onion soup and burgers.

(although a little bit stingy with the ketchup!)

My husband and I came to Hoexter's the day before our wedding for a yummy burger and we were NOT disappointed. Truly one of the yummiest burgers I've ever had. We ordered bread as an app but the burgers came out about 1 minute after so didn't really get a chance to enjoy it as much as I'd like. The bench seats at the very front in front of the window are kinda thin so just be mindful of that.

All in all the drinks were fabulous as was the staff! We're eager to comeback to try the rest of the menu!

Great decision to open Hoexter's for brunch on Sat/Sun. Food was good as always. Maybe because it is not well known yet that H is now serving brunch, it was much calmer and more relaxed compared to the crowded dinner scene. Nice!

Ambiance and vibe were great. Food was average, certainly not worth the price but the atmosphere made up for it. Wait staff seemed hit or miss, our waitress was nice and water was frequently refilled but no refills on other beverages were offered. Bartender was watching baseball behind the bar on his phone and staff was chatting around the hostess stand for much of the night. Feels like the place wants to be a high end brasserie like Polo Bar but doesn't have the food quality and staff training to get there, yet. I'd go back for the ambiance, very cozy and great date spot. But I may skip the food and only get drinks.

Elegant ambience & professional service. The food was fine, albeit overpriced. One of the steaks was actually $76. It's a “see & be seen” kind of place, frankly—Similar gastropub-ish menus cost significantly less.

Lovely night at Hoexters where the ambiance is intimate and romantic. We had an amazing waitress in Adelaide who took excellent care of our table. The flavor profile of our food was complex and satisfying. The Tuna Crudo and the porc Milanese were outstanding. The loaded potato was disappointing; it arrived at the table cold, and was returned still on the cool side after sending it back. Wine list was impressive. Overall, a great choice for a night out in the hood. We will be back.
