I Came here after seeing all the TikTok hype, and honestly I left wondering if we went to the same restaurant everyone’s been raving about. Nothing about the food said “authentic Southern,” and the warmth or hospitality you’d expect from a soul food spot just wasn’t there.
We came on a Saturday night, so I expected it to be busy but what I didn’t expect was to be seated and then sit untouched for nearly 10 minutes. It looked like a barback was trying to help the only waitress on the floor take orders, which tells me they were either severely understaffed or poorly managed that night.
We started with two iced teas, assuming they were sweet tea (as most Southern places would have), but got an unsweetened hibiscus tea that wasn’t even listed on the menu. It had no flavor and left an odd aftertaste.
I ordered a burger thinking that was a safe bet (but it definitely wasn’t) The brioche bun was hard and tasted stale, and although I asked for medium well, it came out fully well-done !!!!! chewy, salty, and overcooked. My partner ordered the Cajun wings, but there was no Cajun flavor to be found. They just tasted like plain fried wings with barely any seasoning.
The mac and cheese had decent flavor, but it was so soupy it could’ve been eaten with a spoon. Even the cocktails missed the mark we ordered “Can It All Be So Simple” with mango, but there was zero mango flavor and nothing about the drink presentation felt thought-out.
We really came hoping to enjoy a good meal and support a Black-owned business, but the entire experience was just disappointing. It honestly felt like the food was catered more toward the area’s majority crowd than people who actually know and love soul food.
I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but I felt compelled to because I really wanted to to love this place. It has so much potential the concept, the vibe, the branding !
but the execution just wasn’t there. I truly hope management reads this and reaches out, because I’d love to give it another try if they can make things right.

I was very disappointed, I was expecting do much more based on The reviews on TikTok but they Were very wrong lol. I love supporting black owned restaurants when I am Visiting other states but the food here was not given Soul food. The fried chicken came out very dark, As if the grease needed to be changed. But the taste of the chicken was nasty. It was advertise as Cajun fried chicken but I didn't taste a bit of Cajun . I got chicken because you typically can't go wrong with fried chicken at a black restaurant but Even hot sauce couldn't change the taste. The greens were tasteless. The Little piece of Corn was good but why so small ? My husband got steak tip they were ok. The fries were really good though. But The customer service was great. The atmosphere as well.

Food review only. Southern food is one of my favorites and this place is mid.
The ribs are great. Very well done and maybe some of the best you can find in the city. Dried okra is decent too. Sides are ok. Desserts are good but feels a bit store bought.
The chicken is very disappointing. Very dry and lacking flavor. The cornbread was undercooked and left a grainy mouth feel.

Randomly on a Saturday ended up at Hollybrook Lane. And so glad I did the food was exceptional the fried okra was top tier! And the drinks chef kiss. If you like classic throwback tunes paired with comfort food and good drinks. This is the place! Can’t wait to return.

I had an incredible experience at Hollybrook lane- stopped in for a drink (glass of wine and a beer) and ended up staying for a snack (fried okra, incredible). I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Cedric, who is the sweetest guy. I would highly recommend and will be back!

Super fun spot all around! We loved our cocktails and apps. The menu is robust with classic cocktails and interesting seasonal cocktails. I need to come back to try them all. Great happy hour and the music was bangin...really well curated.

The food isn’t that bad but it doesn’t give real southern flavor. The soul food here is acceptable for the area, meaning it didn’t really give soul food to me as a Black person but might slap for 👋🏻 folks. We got the blackened chicken and it was missing flavor, I was hoping for a more flavorful chicken. The rice also was sticky and clumpy. That plate was not worth $26 dollars. We did not like the cornbread much, it was dry and tasted like carrot cake to me.
While the popcorn shrimp and mac&cheese were relatively good, it tasted like I could get it from applebees or bbq. The atmosphere and vibe is chill and it’s a cool place for a night. Our waiter wasn’t rude, but he didn’t come back to ask if we needed anything else. For me, this restaurant is nothing worth coming back for but it is decent for a one time experience.

I’m not a fry person, but the Cajun fries here are on ten, especially with their ranch dressing. Catfish was busting with flavor too. Super laid back stylish vibe and chill playlist
