Delicious quality. Not much quantity in selection of premium meats.

The food inside is very unpalatable. I had diarrhea the same day after eating it. In fact, the soup base and ingredients are not fresh. The tomato soup has no taste, and it is similar to a hot pot base that no one has eaten for hundreds of years. Really, few foreigners would order it, so the kitchen chefs would put the tomatoes in the cold storage and take them out to sell the next day. If they can't sell them all, they will continue to do so. The soup base is changed about every 2 weeks. The tomato soup is made by mixing tomato sauce with water. The chicken soup is boiled, but it is very salty. I saw the kitchen chef add two large bags of salt. The spicy hot pot is just hot pot base mixed with water and some chili peppers. The curry pot is just curry cubes mixed with water + a lot of chicken essence. The barbecue is just average. There are not many samples, and the taste is more suitable for foreigners. It is better to eat at the old street next door.

The whole package here is excellent. They serve good dishes without delay. Staff attention and menu variety are remarkable. This spot has a distinctive atmosphere. The great help is truly valued.

Hometown Hotpot & BBQ revealed its special qualities during my meal. These dishes cost appropriately for their quality. The meals taste great and staff is accommodating. The workers provide extraordinarily attentive service. The staff here approaches service positively.

My absolute favorite Korean bbq. The sauce station. The many options plus all you can eat! The service is good and they let you do your own thing or help you as needed. Hotpot and bbq whatever you need

We flew in internationally to try this hotpot place and it’s listed as open on Tuesdays on google. Upon walking up to the door, it was closed and it said “closed on Tuesdays”.

As someone in business, I know for sure you are able to change this on Google. For the time wasted, I am very upset.

Think we needed more guidance. Wasn’t sure when items were fully cooked. Table next to us was burning bbq so smell wasn’t great. They did provide an endless supply of meats & seafood. Daughter tried it but though most of the different items tasted the same.

Walking into Hometown Hotpot in the heart of Chinatown, I was drawn in by their $14.99 lunch special, advertised on the board outside. This kind of deal in a city where bubble tea shops charge nearly $10 for a glorified milkshake feels like stumbling on treasure.

I got the tomato soup broth (my personal favorite) paired with a protein, beef in my case—and a generous helping of fresh veggies. It’s the kind of meal that makes you forget the cold outside and invites you to savor simplicity.

The space itself is clean and spacious, with a well-stocked clean sauce station that doesn’t skimp on options, a critical point for any hotpot experience worth its salt. And the bathroom? Surprisingly spotless. Trust me, a clean bathroom is often the unspoken truth of a restaurant’s commitment to hygiene and care.

Checking out their Instagram, I noticed an intriguing promotion: parties of six can score a free meal for one. It’s the kind of incentive that makes you consider rallying the troops, especially for an occasion like a birthday.

I’ll definitely be back—this spot isn’t just a bargain; it’s a reminder that good food doesn’t have to come with an inflated price tag. Hometown Hotpot is a refreshing find in a neighborhood that balances tradition and trend.

A great chance to have large gathering, plenty of room and good food for a large audience, we had 40 people for our end of year party.

The bbq is unlimited for 2 hours and hot pot is adequate but a little weak after a few additions.

All they want is tip. I have family of 6 went there around 4pm on Christmas eve. First I asked if we need split the table
since 2 of us only want BBQ and the rest only want hot pot, I was told was fine to sit together,
so I ordered 3 regular soup base and one tomato soup, the waiter is a young guy, he messed up tomato soup to tumyum soup, but I was able to change back. Then I ordered one meat and different kinds vegetables and mushrooms for 4 peoples for beginning, but I didn't received all of my orders, plus I ordered fish ball with meat inside, only received regular one. During we were eating, they do have someone came to refill the soup base and 2 serving BBQ meat, no body show up to ask and offer refill for hot pot. Since we have other scheduled, decided to check out at the cashier, the cashier asked left tip over there, but my husband wanted to leave on the table, couple minutes later one of the worker came to the table asked to leave the tip on his tray. When I put $10 on, and explaining to him: there's no service plus wrong items, he was mad instead to do apologized he just said it's OK, then started to clean up our table in front of us. OMG, we ended up spent over $270 and leave with 10% full of stomach .

The shop looks new, clean, luxurious, with many tables and large capacity. I ate for three people, arrived at 1pm on Saturday, no need to wait, because there were many empty tables. Eating BBQ for one person costs 40 if you are over 60 years old, you can get a 20% discount (remember, the discount is only on the meal, not the entire bill). The food is good, a bit more Malay than Chinese.
