Palermo Restaurant, we enjoyed an incredible meal on a rainy Saturday in March in NYC, the owner told us that he had been there for a short time, and without a doubt I have to tell him that I hope it establishes itself and lasts a long time. Being Spanish and knowing that Argentines have a special touch for meat, we couldn't resist the temptation and what a magnificent temptation, enjoying a good atmosphere and good people, with a Quilmes. What more could you ask for, well yes, a great dessert..... 100% recommended, we hope to return and visit Palermo again.Thank you!!!!

Quality has gone down hill -- the corn empanadas were loaded with a cheese filling, and the NY strip steak was really a hanger steak. What a shame since this was a wonderful place - did they change hands? get a new cook? Something was missing big time from previous dinners there. Too bad.

Upon entering the restaurant we were seated downstairs where it was drafty and cold. I didn't realize the restaurant had an upstairs dining room. We weren't given an option. When I realized there was an upstairs I asked to be moved which they did. We ordered a bottle of wine which when brought to us was warm and needed to be chilled. That alone took 15-20 mins. The food was good, and we enjoyed the meal. However the wait staff barely came to check on us and only filled our wine glasses when we asked. I don't think I'll be returning, I found the restaurant to be too pricey for what it was and felt somewhat like a tourist trap. Now also I have to wait 2 days because they over charged us for this warm bottle of wine and when we brought the issue to the waiter before we left who told us it was the correct price. *update: was told that a manger was going to call to refund me the money and no one has called. I've called several times with no one to help. Avoid this restaurant

The ambiance was inviting and the service commendable. We tried their short ribs and ribeye stake, which was well-prepared but a tad too salty for my European taste buds. This could very well be a matter of personal preference. Overall, a decent experience for those looking to explore traditional Argentinian tastes in New York.

The room we sat in was very small, but that added to the experience. My date and I ordered the dish for two and enjoyed every bite especially the sweetbread. The waiter was extremely nice to us, the cook gave us complimentary food, and overall we had a very nice time there. We plan to go back next time we're in town.

Too expensive. The empanadas saved the day. Awful cocktails. It was very cold inside in mid-December.

Our reservation got off to a rocky start, having arrived and immediately being told that the kitchen was closing and we needed to order soon—no matter the fact that we arrived early for a 10:30 PM post-show reservation. However, the dinner vastly improved, with an excellent skirt steak, very good Malbec, and accompaniments. The service also greatly improved, to the point where we thought it was a very good experience and would certainly return. Wine prices are fairly high, so be careful or you will double the price of your meal

The beef empanadas and the steak was delicious. Loved the margaritas. The only disappointing factor was that they charged gratuity for our table of 5 and didn't tell us when they delivered the bill. We tipped on top off the tip without knowing it! I would have liked to have been seated on the second floor because the 1st floor is drafty by the door. The quality was definitely there and the staff was kind.

I tried this new Argentinian restaurant with my family. They offered us to sit at a table under a speaker with very loud music relatively near to the kitchen. The smell from the kitchen was very bad. Needles to say that we could not hear each other due to the loud volume of the music. We asked the waiter to move us upstairs but we were told that there were no tables available and that the music was very loud. However, when I checked upstairs indeed there were tables available and there was no music. We did not understand what was the big deal with not allowing us to sit upstairs. Finally we changed to the table upstairs. We ordered the food, it was good average Argentinian meet, well cooked.Again, the meat was good. My wife, though, who is Argentinian, could not understand why the music sounded as if we were in a ‘bailanta' in the province of BA ( Conurbano) rather than in NYC. RAFAGA, Gilda, Ricky Maravilla..... Are you kidding me? According to her this music is more typical of wedding parties at 5 am when everyone has had too much to drink, rather than a nice restaurant in NYC, that aspires to offer great food and a great and sophisticated ambiance. There is plenty of great Argentine music much better suited to an international clientele. The surprise arrived with the check, when the total amount was only for payment in cash; however if one pays with credit card the amount had a 3,5% extra cost (USD 8.12 extra.). Don't get me wrong. 8 dollars is not much compared to the 231,90 dinner without tip. However, when I asked for an explanation the waiter said that this is normal in New York. I am not that sure about that: I have been living in New York for 25 years and I have never seen this. This is a very cheap and low way to make more money. My wife told me that the 10% added cost is a typical thing from Buenos Aires, that she does not miss at all from her beloved country. Not recommended. Go to Buenos Aires and Sabor Argentino for a real Argentine experience.

Pros: Excellent menu & charming ambience; satisfactory service. Cons: Music was too loud; waiter would not provide separate checks; no decaffeinated coffee. A good start, but definite room for improvement.

We dined upstairs and it was a cozy and comfortable space. The servers were all friendly and not pressuring or pressing for time at all. Great wine selections! The foods were delicious but the meats were a little too well done. But overall we had an amazing dining experience.

Fantastic evening with friends! Of course, the empanadas were wonderful. Tried the corn for the first time (had beef last time) and loved them! Friends had beef and also enjoyed. The parrillada says it's for 2, but 4 adults ate and left some behind... One of us had the octopus with salad. Both really good. The Malbec choice was excellent (surprised there are not more Malbec options on the list). Our server and the team were attentive and very friendly. This was our second time and we know we'll be back. Thanks for a lovely evening!
