I came for the first time to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and our server was super nice and attentive. We really enjoyed our experience and definitely recommend.
Unlimited wagyu beef bbq at USD 159 without tax but they also offer some ala carte items. I loved their Kimchi which had the right amount of spice and for their beef, I prefer the rib eye, rib eye cap and picanha. Aside from their kimchi, nothing else stood out compared to other high end beef BBQ but overall I will consider visiting again.

An exceptional experience at Hyun. The quality of the beef was outstanding, beautifully presented, and perfectly paced. What truly elevated the evening was our server, Nao. He was incredibly knowledgeable about each cut, explained the progression thoughtfully, and guided us through the meal with warmth and precision. His attentiveness and professionalism made the experience seamless. Highly recommend sitting with Nao if you can.

AYCE wagyu was good, service was good.
Though it took a few rounds of us telling them, medium rare, and us taking the meat off the grill, they got it right 3 rounds in.

Ambience is great, cuts are great and the service was fairly good albeit not as warm as i'd like. It's tough from a value perspective but if you're in town and bored it's worth a visit.
Hyun in K-Town is absolutely amazing! We had the Hyun-makase set, and the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu was incredible — so tender and flavorful. The staff helped grill the meat perfectly, and the 12 different cuts were all delicious.
We also tried the sea urchin with Wagyu — such a heavenly combination! The Korean-style sides, fresh salad, and dipping sauces made the meal even better.
The drinks and desserts were excellent too — Hallabong Ade, Genmai-cha, Shiso Sorbet, and Hōji Ice Cream were perfect to refresh the palate.
The atmosphere is cozy and stylish, with private rooms available. Highly recommend for anyone who loves Wagyu or wants a fun dining experience in NYC!

We were a little bummed to learn that they now only offer the hyun-makase at $159 per person. A bit steep, but it was a special occasion, so we just went for it. There were a lot of private booths, but we were seated all the way in the back near the kitchen in a shared booth. The couple sitting across from us was eerily quiet while eating their food while my group played catch up. The server, while very nice was difficult to understand. The beef, while all very good, just started to taste the same after awhile. We did wish that they were more attentive with refilling our lettuce. Near the end we just waited around for them to come into the booth. However, we did have a very nice time and we left full. I would come back but also for a nice occasion.

the restaurant and the staff exceptional, although the customers ridiculously loooouuddd omg, I can't even talk to the server.
Had decently high expectations of this place given the price point. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to them. All three members of our party had food poisoning the next day. The only place we ate together at was Hyun.

The food was great! I loved their Bachan options especially the green onion kimchi and the salad helped break through the rich bites of the meat. The service was impeccable and they were very attentive. I also liked that we didn't have to cook our own meat. We also enjoyed the sesame cold noodles and it was my first time trying them and they were delicious! I also didn't feel rushed with the time limit and we were able to eat as much as we wanted. I will say though I do think the price is kind of steep but the meat was great quality so I somewhat understand. All in all I had a great experience.
Wagyu was greeeeaaaat!!
The course menu was reasonably priced and definitely worth it based on the quality of the meat.
However, side dishes like doenjang stew, cold noodles, and rice felt a bit pricey.
The atmosphere is quite formal. We did not get the private room but I think it is not hard to get, which will be better. The server is well-trained for cooking wagyu and they added our lettuce very often.
Came here Saturday night with friends—had reservations but we ended having to wait a bit for our table (for 6 ppl). The restaurant was extremely hot, they had the heat turned up so high everyone was struggling to stay cool—we voiced our concerns several times.
Our party got the HYUN-makase, supposedly all-you-can-eat wagyu for $159. The Wagyu meats were good—they cooked it and let us eat a few different cuts at a time, but honestly by the end we couldn’t remember exactly which ones were which. Some cuts were very tender yet some were too chewy. The Marinated Wagyu (Galbi) was my favorite. For dipping, the truffle sea salt was so delicious, extra flavor with the meat! Banchans were okay—kimchi, salad and veggies, not a huge selection. We also ordered the Doenjang-jigae (stew) and the Naeng-myun (cold noodles) which were good.
Service here was top notch. Restaurant vibe is more intimate type of setting. Food was good but I’m not sure the HYUN-makase was really worth it, would have preferred an à la carte option.
