We had dinner the other night at Il Buco, on beautiful Bond St. The place is cozy and well-designed, with a great vibe—even though it was packed, it still felt intimate.

We ordered four dishes and everything we had was really well done and full of flavor. We’ll definitely be coming back.

The only downside was the waiter, who kept asking if I wanted another glass of wine—over and over. It felt a bit pushy, to be honest.

Aside from that, the pricing was totally fair for New York.

I called the restaurant on 3/12/2025 at 2:52 PM to adjust my reservation, and the female maître d’ was shockingly rude. Rather than assisting me, she abruptly hung up mid-conversation. This level of unprofessionalism is completely unacceptable and made for an incredibly disappointing customer service experience.

Vibes are cool but if you have long legs you will be sitting awkwardly in the low seats and barely fit under some tables. Decent food for the high price

Absolutely horrible, spending over 400 dollars for 2 and the steak was no better than ones I’d buy from ShopRite and cook in a pan.

Cute atmosphere, but the food is so overhyped. Might be the worst meal I’ve ever had relative to the price in NYC in over 30 years. Service, however, was fantastic.

Very poor service. When you're spending $$$ for a nice meal you don't want to be fearful of the staff. Very unpleasant experience, I don't wish this on other people. We did complain to the chief and got our meal for free but we still left with a bitter taste in our mouths.

Beautiful bread, excellent service and very friendly and professional staff. Food 5 out of 10. Food mediocre, particularly the spaghetti with lobster. Not one decent piece if lobster in it. Very mediocre! Lovely & cozy place

4.5 🌟Cozy dimly lit restaurant with dark wood features; we sat in the back near the kitchen which ended up being nice since it was away from most of the restaurant chatter.

Highlights were the stracciatella, cavoletti (Brussel sprout salad with a nice vinegar dressing), cavolonero (perfectly dressed kale salad), skirt steak (the purple potatoes were also sweet and delicious), and the ricotta cheesecake was nice and light.

Their take on the martini was also great, not what you normally associate a martini with, highly recommend.

Very good food and service but very pricey. We paid 174 euro each, 3 people. Two regional wines, no “secondi”, no super food (eg, lobster,,etc), two dessert only. There is no music or entertainment and the place has no view and it is not in a prime location. The price we paid did not make any sense. They will no see us again.

Really rude staff, I wish the service was better.

We had a terrible experience at this restaurant. We were made to wait 25 minutes past our reservation time and were given no time frame on when a table would be available so we eventually just left. Will not be coming back. Completely unprofessional and disappointing.

The food was subpar at best. The best part was the small basket of bread with olive oil. Far better restaurants in the city.

I am all for paying good money for phenomenal food but this was not it. We had the croquetas (don’t get this item, absolutely disgusting), prawns (over cooked), Presces (lacked flavor and cohesiveness), and another pasta base dish that was very bland. I’m leaving this review for someone looking for DELICIOUS Italian cuisine. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. The staff were kind and somewhat attentive. The atmosphere was calm. The Chardonnay was great! But the food was subpar at its best. And the worst part of it all was the PRICE. We spent over $300 for 2 ppl. I’ll never forget this experience.
