December 2023My friend and I back here again for great wine. We were waiting for next door to available, so we decided to hang out here first. I Could eat here at I saw they have lots of nice menu but my best friend who is super crazy about food demanded to go to the next place so I'm very easy person just go with it. Service is always nice and professional. With out my friend I will come back to try great food next time.2019Il Buco is next to the restaurant that my friend and I went to have a dinner. Looks from the outside this place is very attractive then we stepped in and we spent time in il buco for couple hours, lol. We had several drinks, met some interesting people, had a nice conversation and enjoyed my evening so much. We didn't eat there but from what we talked to another people, they all say food here is very delicious and I will definitely try to eat here next time:) nice drinks and nice interior!

I received a gift certificate for $200. Tried to use it and was told only $59.55 remained. I paid remainder of bill + tip with my AMEX. Steve, the manager, would only credit my AMEX $129.90 unless I agreed to stiff the waiter $10.55. I told him to give it all to the waiter and confirm that he in fact did give to the waiter. Of course, Steve never wrote back. The food is fine but the management is immoral.

Il Buco is a beautiful Spanish restaurant filled w rustic charm, delicious food, and perfect service. We had the olive oil sampler, Gambas, Salad, Bikini Sandwiches, and sherry and white wine. Go soon because they have a free glass of champagne during their 30th anniversary.I can’t wait to go back to this restaurant.

Very quaint and cozy Italian spot! The interior ha cute wooden decorations and is dimly lit, making for a great ambiance. The service is attentive and polite. The food was really good as well! We tried the ricotta and octopus for appetizer and both were stellar. For my main, I got the spaghetti, which was perfectly al dente. For dessert, the tarte de pera was nutty and delicious. Unfortunately, we were not a fan of the bomboloni dessert, which tasted like it had been sitting out too long. Overall, if you want a cozy and delicious Italian meal, I would recommend this place!

Delicious food and service. Excellent wine recommendations by the charming sommelier Sarah. I had the iberico pork entree which was one of the best pork dishes I've had in a long time. Ate every last morsel despite being quite full. Also enjoyed the steak tartare, octopus, and burrata starters.

We ate outside, so can’t speak much to the atmosphere. However, outdoor area is well-heated and has nice touches like paintings and good lighting, and a brief glimpse inside gave the impression of an aesthetically pleasing, comfy experience. The service was good, but I can’t say the staff was especially welcoming, patient, and helpful. No knocks, just not 5 stars. The food, though? Phenomenal. We had tagliatelle and risotto, with il Buco crema and Bomboloni (as fun to say as you might imagine) for dessert. The mushroom tagliatelle was especially flavorful, and the crema had a uniquely bittersweet flavor that we both enjoyed. Highly recommend, and would go back!Vegetarian options: Pasta, risotto, desserts, and probably more! Suitable for vegetarians, but vegan could be tough (butter, cheese, egg, etc).

Favorite italian restaurant in nyc so far. Unbelievable food - loved the risotto. As good as a risotto can get. Wait staff and bar staff were so friendly and on point. And the atmosphere is quaint and sophisticated.

Let me be clear that we came to Il Buco because of our excitement for their sommelier Sarah. We were not disappointed. She is as delightful and engaging as we expected. She listened to our preferences and made great recommendations and shared lots of knowledge to further our exploration of wine. Hope to continue learning from her in person! But lest I forget to mention the food! Every dish was spot on. Octopus, tuna crudo, beef tartare, venison pasta, pork shoulder. Nothing was a bad choice! Our server always made sure our glasses were full and that we had everything we needed. It was a special evening that we'll never forget.

Enjoyed a pleasant weekend lunch experience, despite slightly busy servers on Saturday. The highlight was undoubtedly the delicious food.
