Found this place by accident when I was passing by and decided to have dinner instead. The place had a really old classic italian vibe which felt cozy and rustic. The staff were really nice and professional. The food was nice but may be a bit pricy but other than that a great night. I would highly recommend if you wish to have an elegant and nice dinner

Quaint authentic Italian place nestled in the UES. Delicious specials, wine by the glass is just a mental list. We had the sole special with wine & mushroom sauce, a rolled pork chop special, the gnocchi, and the fried zucchini. Everything was perfectly seasoned. The waitstaff is incredibly attentive and congenial. We will be back!

Had a great dinner at Il Carino last night. The servers were so nice and attentive, and the food was incredible. Even when we had a slight mixup with our order, Giulio fixed it right away with no issue. My friends and I will definitely be back again!

A neighborhood jewel. I never review restaurants but decided to based on the excellent food and service my friend and I received here. We were looking for a restaurant last minute on the Upper East side of NY and found Il Carino. I wasn't expecting much as it was mid-week, and the restaurant had plenty of availability. The service and food exceeded my expectations- the fried zucchini was meticulously cut very thin and fried to perfection, the gnocchi was homemade and perfectly pillowy in a simple and not overpowering pink sauce and the veal, pounded thin to perfection and melted in my mouth (just as my Italian mother would have made). Our waiter was attentive and polite, a truly lovely evening.

We had SUCH a good experience here. Food was some of the best we’d ever had. I got the salmon and it was really good, my mom got the fettuccine and was seriously the best fettuccine we’d ever had. My best friend got the gnocchi and it was so indescribably good I’m still thinking about it. The service was incredible as well. Awesome environment, immaculate vibes, the energy was all great. We weren’t gonna order any dessert, and then they heard us talking about the tiramisu, so they just brought it out on the house. 12/10 experience will definitely be going back and showing people this place.

Good food and good service but they do not tell you that there's a seven dollar credit card fee so be prepared to bring cash if you don't wanna pay that 
I was looking for a good restaurant on the upper east side and instead found a great neighborhood restaurant. This 12-seat Italian restaurant provided a relaxing atmosphere with wonderful service and food. I started by asking for bruschetta which was not on the menu but was not an issue for the kitchen. It was really good especially with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar placed on the table. My next choice was one of the specials, lobster ravioli with clams and mussels. It was all good with the lobster ravioli standing out. I finished the meal with the ricotta cheesecake and it was so light and satisfying. I must point out that the house Chianti Classico was a perfect accompaniment to the meal. I plan to return to enjoy the service provided Junior, the atmosphere and the food provided by the Chef/Owner.
