Wonderful! Out waiter was super friendly, and they accommodated our kids by offering a kid sized portion, which was nice. The food was delicious, inviting atmosphere and we would definitely recommend!
Food was very good and such a value for the money! So reasonable! Will go back again before the theater.
Second time there. Food is always delicious and it's so close to the theaters if you are in the city for a show. The staff is always very friendly. I love going there in the warm weather when they open the sidewalk windows! Great people watching.
Caesar salad and the chicken Alfredo are highly recommended. Top off this lovely lunch with their outstanding tiramisu and head over to the theatre to catch a matinee on Broadway...a great way to spend an afternoon in NYC
Food was very good. Service and accuracy of food ordered was terrible. We were not greeted at the door just told where to sit. Drink orders were incorrect. Did not bring the correct ordered food, no grilled chicken on the pasta, no potatoes with the salmon. Asked for red pepper flakes and they were brought after the food was eaten.
Even with a reservation there was a long wait between being seated, served, and receiving food. The waiter was very busy and we told them in advance we had an 8:00 show. We were on time for our 6:30 reservation and not given our food or drinks for almost 45 minutes. Something that was not advertised was that the restaurant was outdoors, even the indoor portion was hot, and had no fans or air circulating. If I had known I probably would not have made dinner plans here.
This is such a hidden gem in NYC! I really enjoyed my meal here. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The prices are extremely reasonable for midtown Manhattan!
Our server was so nice but unfortunately they seemed understaffed. The restaurant was completely full and our food was good, not fantastic. The crab cake appetizer was the one outstanding thing we are. Absolutely delicious!
The food was very good and fairly priced. The portions were plenty, but not excessive. We had gone here on the recommendation of a friend who loves it. It at least 5 minutes of us standing at the hostess stand for anyone to acknowledge us. Once seated ( we had reservations), we were so crushed into a corner that I had to move every time the waiter for the table behind us need to get by. Our server was super grumpy. The gentleman, who seemed to be a manager, was the only bright light as he joked and filled our water bottle. It was difficult to get our bill when finished and even more difficult to hand it back to someone to complete the payment. Also, it was sweaty hot in there. I realize it's June but it was 10:30 at night. Get some fans or AC maybe. Wish the experience had been as good as the food.
Let me start by saying that my dish was incredibly tasty and I would go back if it wasn't for the terrible service. The hostess did her bare minimum. She could have been communicating with the kitchen and the wait staff to help the efficiency of the restaurant. Our server missed ordering a main dish for one of our party of 5, even when my friend confirmed at least three times what he chose. No one returned to the table once we had our meals to see if we were satisfied. I ordered a glass of merlot that was rancid and literally brown. Whoever poured it mustn't have given a f*%&. The malbec i ended up with was questionable. It took too long to get the food and too long to get the check.

We have eaten there several times. Fabulous staff and incredible food. NEVER disappointed.
Every time we visit the city, we are returned visitors to Il Forno. The atmosphere and the outstanding food and service is what makes Il Forno unique to other restaurants in the city.
Got seated quickly. Went an hour before closing time and the place was pretty packed. Service was fast but the food was not so great. Ordered a burrata and the bread was hard as rock, also ordered a flatbread pizza and it was a little overcooked almost burnt. The chicken alfredo we ordered was passable because we were hungry but still not so great. The prices weren’t horrible for NYC but I would’ve expected better quality food for what we paid. Will not return unless in a real pinch and nothing else is open.
Store front with excellent food in a good location.
Food sucks and super slow service but friendly staff and cool atmosphere. Wasn’t even offered a table water at all!!!!!
