We were 4 for dinner at 5:30 and informed staff that we needed to leave by 6:45 for theater that started at 7:00. Prior to reserving, we contacted the restaurant and they said that was plenty of time for dinner. By 6:30, we had only been served salads and a bottle of water. We paid for what was served and left without eating dinner just in time to make the theater.

The only suggestion I would have is to offer holiday cocktails on the menu at Christmas. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent!

Wonderful quaint place for food before or after a show. Good food and the owner/manager is a true delight!

The food was good. I was dining alone and I think the staff focused more on groups with more than one person to maximize their tip potential.

Very good food at a reasonable price. I opted for the lunch prix fixe with appetizer, entree and dessert. All were very good. Service was attentive and quick.

Location is great for pre-theater dinner. Nice to be able to get a reservation so that we know where we will eat before the show. Food was OK -nothing spectacular. Wait staff was accommodating with the theater timing.

Food was excellent!!!!!!! Service was a little slow getting started but it looked like they were down a server and just at 4:30. Two more workers showed up at 5:00. We had reservations for 4:30 so they knew we were coming!! The restaurant's ambience was delightful, though it did get rather warm when all the cooking started! We would definitely go back!!

Small table, very noisy. Nice staff. I liked my beet salad and salmon. Husband didn't enjoy his chicken Parmesan and spaghetti. Expensive so-so wine. Convenient to the theatre we were attending that night.

I'm only giving it 1 star because I cannot give it zero. We had a booking, when we arrived we were told rudely that our table wasn't ready and wouldn't be ready for at least 20 mins. We were then told to stand on the pavement and shut the door after us as we were letting in the cold. After waiting for 20 mins on the pavement with loads of other diners who had also booked and had no table, we gave up waiting as we had theatre tickets booked. So we haven't eaten here, and wouldn't even contemplate booking again. Disgusting "service".

Overall fine for pre-theater dining. The food is decent but not fine dining as is the service....

We visited Il Forno on the recommendation of a local resident, and were we ever happy we listened to him! The food was tasty, the service friendly, and the decor is very Old New York. Next time we're in town, we'll be back!

We enjoyed our dinner of chicken parmigiana Beet salad Vegetable pizza Espresso martini Tiramisu We loved how close it was to the theaters. We never felt rushed and had to ask for the check which I love!! We will be back

We ordered the $36 prix fixe dinner. We were not served any bread although other tables had. So we asked for some. Was also never asked if we wanted drinks. The Caesar salad was disappointing. Not enough dressing and the lettuce wasn't fresh. Our entrees were penne a La vodka and tagliatelle bolognese. They were fine but nothing special. Our favorite part of the meal was dessert. The mini cannolis and tiramisu were delicious.
