Everything about the evening was perfect with the exception of the sorbet, which I learned was purchased not made on the premises. If the restaurant doesn't want to make it, they should find another supplier. That said, it was a great evening and we will definitely look forward to returning.
We absolutely loved this meal. We choose an off time on purpose. 3:30 Sunday afternoon. There were only. Few other patrons and we had impeccable service. The food was delicious. Best tiramisu I've ever had. We celebrated our birthdays and the limoncello was a sweet treat!!!
Food, service, location, parking, a perfect 10! Eddie and his team never forget a face. They treat all their customers with the utmost respect. The food is top notch from the apps to the main dishes. Branzino as always was fantastic but the must starters are the oysters, calamari and raviolis. GO GET IT!!!!!!!
A reasonable Italian Restaurant with good pasta dishes, average fish dishes, and overpriced meats dishes for the quality meat they serve. The desert menu includes average Cream brulée and sub-par Tiramisu (could hardly tell if there was any Mascappone in it). The coffee is good quality. The olive oil/olives were good quality, the bread less quality.
Servers are kind and conscientious, but spilled soup on me and didn't even notice when taking away the plate of the person next to me. They would get 3.5 stars if that were possible, and four if they hadn't spilled the soup on me.
Given the number of quality Italian restaurants in New York City and the hefty price tags this one charges, this one is not good value for money.

Eddie and Steve run a great place, fresh food and great service, authentic and delicious Italian cuisine!
My wife and recently dined at 'Il Monello' and were thoroughly impressed. The reception and the ambiance was warm and inviting, with a casually elegant charm that felt refreshing. We started with the fried calamari and the burrata special, which was a delightful combination. For the main course, we had the chicken parmigiana and the fettuccine al ragout and it was cooked to perfection. The flavors were well-balanced, and the ingredients tasted very fresh. We paired it with a bottle of Barolo. The service was also exceptional, the staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. To end we had the crème brulee and sambuca. We highly recommend Il Monello for a very satisfying experience.
We had a d Lucious dinner. Thank you Eddie, for saving my favorite table. I'll see you soon.
Lived in NYC for 15 years and have had hundreds of Chicken Parmesan’s and I have to say this is the best one. I think about it and come back for it. I’ve eaten other dishes here as well and everything has always been fabulous. If you come start with the chicken parm and go from there.

A monument to Italian cuisine that shows no shine of tarnish or cracks and proves there are second acts in American life and restaurants. When Il Monello opened back up in 2023, 14 years after having to leave its old location, yes, I was hesitant to go home again by making a reservation. I don't know why I wanted so long. The menu is stellar. The staff equally shines. Our waiter was quick to say "Of course" when I wanted to substitute orecchiette pasta for the traditional bucatini in my cacio e pepe. The drink pour is generous with a complimentary Vin Santo to accompany my wife's affogato. Thanks Il Monello for keeping the past alive , tasty and tasteful. My next return home will not be that long!
Best food and service of the area!
Love it!

Great food and great service in a quiet atmosphere. It is not inexpensive but the value is certainly there.

Owner was rude when my table of 6 told him it was too cold. It was Father’s Day and we had elderly parents with us. We asked him to put heat on. He said he was warm. 50% of the people wore their coats while eating!

Excellent restaurant experience!! The baked clams and Calamari are delicious for appetizers. I had the Fettuccine for my main dish and it was great. Tiramisu was one of the best I have ever eaten and the coffee was great today. I was there with a party of 9 and it was superb.
