We have become regulars at Il Postino. The food is great and the service is excellent. It is not cheap but worth it for a special occasion.
Beautiful restaurant and wonderfully decorated for Christmas ! Feels like you are in your own living room - good food expertly prepared and waiters very attentive and helpful Tables good distance apart so that you may converse without straining with your table mates !
Never eat at a table in the bar. Too close together. Constant traffic to back dining room. There were 2 different parties of 9 waiting for tables and no place to wait, so standing next to diners. Noise level made conversation difficult. Food was overpriced for what it was.
This was by far one of the best Christmas experiences ever. The ravioli with white truffle sauce (truffle was shredded at the table) was insanely delicious, best we ever had. (Pricey, though, at 225 a plate be warned). It was lunch so we had the restaurant almost to ourselves, and the chef came to our table. We intend to go back over the coming year to enjoy other great dishes. My sister got duck l'orange that was great, and the wine list is also wonderful.
Il Postino didn’t live up to the hype. The food was underwhelming and way overpriced for what you get. The service was subpar, and the atmosphere felt more focused on being “fancy” than actually delivering a good experience. Overall, not worth the money or the time.

Best Italian in the area. Restaurant looks small from outside but it’s actually huge. Swift friendly service, extensive menu, delicious food, they’ll make you anything you want.

Food was very good and service was very attentive. Still, the prices are significantly higher than for equally good Italian cuisine elsewhere, so just be aware of the potential for "sticker shock", minimum $100 per person for 3, a glass of wine each, two shared pastas, shared salad, and one shared meat dish, plus tip, of course.
We had a truly exceptional experience at Il Postino. The service is flawless. The room feels like you are in a beautiful home. Food truly incredible. Look forward to returning next time we are in NYC! Thank you for a memorable evening.
Arnet is a superb host and server. Always a delicious and excellent meal and dining experience.
We love Il Postino. Authentic cuisine, great value for NYC. The staff, starting with Kate at the bar, is professional, friendly and helpful. The wait staff is always there to help. Our server, Arnoult, is outstanding. Highly recommended.

We had an outstanding dinner at Il Postino last night. We ordered the “Pappardelle allo Scoglio”, comes with Clams, Mussels, Shrimp, Calamari and Scallops followed by the Fish of the Day in salt crust. All very fresh and delicious! Highly recommended. Great atmosphere, delicious food and an amazing service.
Had an amazing dinner here. The service, food, and atmosphere were exceptional. Have never experienced service like this before. We were blown away at how well we were taken care of.

It is consistently the best Italian restaurant. The food is delicious; the staff are very friendly and attentive. The middle room is the best place if you want a quieter place.
Great Italian food fair pricing. However, the waiter did push the higher priced Super Tuscans and was reluctant to serve a very nice but less expensive Chianti Classico
Main dining room jammed, loud, tables on top of each other but food awesome & service regimented.
