We decided to show up for the live jazz night. The music was fantastic and really helped set the mood for a relaxing and intimate night. Service was fast and professional. No complaints there.
However, the food was... bad. I ordered the Rigatoni Marsala and there were a lot issues. The pasta was overcooked, with many rigatoni torn or falling apart; the cream sauce was bland and watery; and the grilled chicken was thin, dry, and seasoned as if it were intended for another dish. Pasta is served in these deep, trough-like bowls, which only accentuated the watery and thin cream sauce. I had a pool of it in my bowl by the end, for it was too thin to coat the pasta successfully. I would have sent it back if I didn't believe in wasting food.
My partner ordered the Penne Vodka which was better, to give credit. Our appetizer (pull apart bread) was fine, and our drinks were very weak.
It really is a shame because the music and atmosphere were pleasing and our server was professional and attentive. However, I can't recommend this place and I can't say I'll be back anytime soon.

Il Sole is one of the restaurants that I most recommend in the Dyckman area. It has a sophisticated and family atmosphere. The employees are exceptionally treated, especially Ambioris, who is kind, affable and professional. The food is exquisite. My favorite food is eggplant rollatini, pasta bolañesa, lasagna, pizza etc, etc etc ahhh and they serve a tiramisu!!!!! Dreamlike. Really thank you for your good treatment and excellent food.
