We needed a restaurant near Grand Central Station and my city friend recommended Il Tinello. Knowing nothing about it, we went and had the most delicious wonderful experience. The bartender was lovely and generous. The mate d charming and our server authentic. Which was just a lead in for the extraordinary meal. Best table side Caesar salad I've ever had (and it's my favorite to order anywhere) scrumptious and huge veal parmigiana to follow. My husband linguini with white clam was perfect too. Capped the meal off with sorbet to cleanse palette and complimentary lemonchelli that brought me back to Italy. My only regret is that we hadn't been sooner but can't wait to go back. Truly delightful experience

We went Tuesday night for a business dinner. Service is outstanding. Old school Italian. Great home made food. The owner Benny makes you feel like a longtime friend. Ray was our server, and took great care of us. We enjoyed it so much we went the next night. Angelo was our server and again superior service and attention. Fish, pasta, burrata and desserts are all excellent and they still do table side Ceasars salad. Highly recommend place for dinner.

Our apartment is not far from Il Tinello on E. 46th Street, and we want there for dinner for the first time recently. We had an absolutely wonderful experience. Benny, the owner, welcomed us warmly, and the first-rate service was replicated by the rest of the staff through the entire meal. Our food was terrific — great ingredients and expertly prepared. Il Tinello has definitely been added to our short list of “go to” restaurants.

BEST PLACE EVER!!! The most delicious food and most incredible hospitality team. This restaurant is family and the people make it feel like that!!! Will call this place home forever!

A wonderful dining experience! Was welcomed warmly and service was amazing. The espresso martini was delicious and the seafood salad was so fresh. I had the Osso Buck which was wow ...so delectable. Finished with a table side dessert of strawberry flambé, what a show! Benny, Arta, Ray and Javi made this dining experience one of the best I've had in a while. Definitely coming back soon!

A lovely night at Il Tinello, as always. Decided to sit at the bar since the restaurant was so busy (especially for a Saturday in the summer!). Arta took great care of me and recommended the moneybags pasta special — a must get while it's on the menu!

Table we were taken to was situated at a point where the room narrowed so we had waiters brushing past us as they went about their business. The noise level was intense - basically the more one table "shouted" others did the same to be heard. I had a veal dish and was bemused why it was served with broccoli, carrots and "unusual" potatoes. Not sure how the veal had been cooked but it was, in my view, certainly not fried or grilled. A big disappointment.

Perfect evening at Il Tinello. Javier made a perfect cacio e pepe tableside. Our whole family felt so welcome, it's clearly a neighborhood favorite.

It was very loud and we felt very rushed. Not nearly as nice as the other restaurant on the west side.

EXCELLENCE in dinning, service and food. Flawless from the moment we walked in to exiting. And that’s RARE to find now - people don’t understand the ART of service and food. This place has the blueprint. Bravo

Very cozy and welcoming restaurant. Warmly greeted by Benny (owner). We had linguine alle vongole.Very tasty- not a large portion, however satisfying. Another diner had chicken milanese which he said was excellent. Staff service can be a bit over the top, however they do aim to please. Would suggest to have a glass wine list as opposed to just bottles. In addition, would eliminate the bruschetta and peppers on the table before sitting down. The served bread was delicious. Overall an excellent neighborhood gem. You won't be disappointed!

An excellent Italian restaurant. I ordered my usual pasta carbonara, and they nailed it. On a Monday night in June it was very busy for dinner. Thats a good sign. Also seemed to be a local crowd. Also a good sign. The service was a charm. Old-world, super professional with tight attention to detail. I was solo and they treated me well. They gave me an after dinner liquor on the house. No idea why, but that little touch. It's nice. And I am writing about it now, and you are reading it. Maybe you get the same warm welcome. Good luck, enjoy!
