Old school cool and one of the best martinis in NY. Get the Veal Parm and whatever they say is today's special.

Wonderful restaurant. Great food, excellent service, terrific bartenders, bocce. As time passes, it appears less and less likely that it will ever reopen. Too bad.

Please reopen! Miss one of our favorite restaurants ever! Love to talk to Jasper at the bar! Dream of the Veal Cutlet Parmigiana and the cauliflower! Yes, I like the pasta, but for me the perfect meal is your "special salad" a veal cutlet and the great way you do the cualiflower!!

A NYC institution. Try the veal. The best in the city. Been coming here for over 30 yrs. Re Opens on 3/1/17. Can't wait to see the remodel.

Check to make sure they're open before going. Yelp says they're open but the note on their door says they're closed for awhile due to travel. (Posting this on June 10th, 2016)

The service here is off the hook! The food, AMAZING! We visited from Oregon and had the best Italian food we have ever had! The portions are large with a beautiful display. The stories of this old restaurant with a real Bocci area is an experience you must have. The host has been there 40 years and still has all the enthusiasm a new hire does. I feel we made friends along the way. I'll be back next year!

We went here at the recommendation of a friend and we were not disappointed. The service was terrific, friendly but not overly effusive. We started with an antipasto. The meats were very fresh and delicious, and the caponato was the best I ever had. The osso bucco (veal shank) was among the best i ever ate, and the gnocchi were light and flavorful. Our friend had the porcini risotto and said it was the best he ever tasted. We had a great evening, and will definitely return. enjoy!

Wow, best Vodka sauce I've ever had & I have really eatin in alot of places & had a lot of sauce. Started off with the fried cauliflower appetizer & then the veal parmigiana as my entree excellent. I will be back for more vodka sauce & parmigiana anything lol Finished it off with a complimentary spumoni nice too

Personally, muenster cheese is a favorite of mine which makes the chicken and veal parm extra special. They have mastered the cheese to sauce ratio.

Ugh I loved this place. It has a special place in my heart. Super classy old school feel, but VERY friendly and welcoming service. WE ordered: Baked Clam special: if this is ever on the specials list, get it. You wont be sorry. Ceasar Salad: There's something to be said about a real, delicious ceasar. yum yum yum. This one isn't soaked in dressing. Its as light as ceasars can get! Pappardelle Carbonara: SO good. Really rich and delish. If you like carbonara youll love this one. Chicken Parm: definately worth getting. Crispy and filling. Osso Bucco special: wowzah this was the star. Meat was falling off the bone, super rich and delicious. Huge portion.

Feels authentic, service was nice. Decor is nothing much to rave about, but the open kitchen is a lovely concept. The food was delicious. We shared the mozzarella and tomato appetizer which was just okay (I've definitely had better - the tomato seemed store bought and tasteless). I had the eggplant parmesan as my main entree - YUMMY. And the cheesecake as dessert was hands down the best cheesecake I've ever had. It tasted and looked like a big slice of Brie, with a crunch from the outside, and a decadent cream from the inside in every bite. They celebrated 50 years today (!!) and served us glasses of limoncello! Salute! Will definitely be back.

The food here is absolutely incredible, and it's worth eating here for that alone (don't miss the burnt cauliflower!). The atmosphere and service are excellent too, though. The staff go above and beyond: My husband and I accidentally left a poster we'd bought at the Met. We live about 2.5 hours away, and by the time we realized we forgot the poster it was too late to turn around and go back for it. We called the restaurant, and they took the time to send it back to us.

My wife and I loved this place. We felt welcomed like family the minute we walked in. The bartenders smiled warmly and greeted us. Then the maitre'd/host (I think his name was Charlie) returned from seating the party ahead of us and also gave us a warm welcome. We were seated in a nice room with a view of an outdoor garden. Our waiter (Clark) was enthusiastic about making sure we were happy and comfortable. He took time explaining the specialties of the house and the specials for the evening. When he was done, our appetites were whetted and we knew we'd have to return to order some of the things he'd mentioned another time. Most importantly, food and drinks were delicious. When we left, not only did all our greeters bid us farewell, but even guests sitting at the bar said good-bye! We left feeling happy, not only because of a good satisfying meal, but because we felt like we were special. P.S. Here's a "crazy credit". Clark has one of the coolest, masculine voices you'll ever hear. Listening to him read the specials was like listening to a book being read to you by Clint Eastwood or someone like that. I could happily listen to that guy recite the phone book.

Very good service but the food is a total crap!!! Same food as that served at fast food restaurant. Difference: nice restaurant setting, plates and silverware! P.S. One of their long time customer is a sore l**** who cannot take a single negative comment. See picture of screenshot.
