Delicious food--smoked eggplant, octopus, branzino, spicy swordfish all superb, and a fantastic baklava for dessert. Excellent, thoughtful service as well. Also 1st rate cocktails...

Small portions, average food, slow service and trying to constantly get you to buy drinks to pad the bill sums this place up! We were running late and called and the Hostess said there's a 15 minute grace. But after that we'll probably have to give your table up as we have a packed house and many reservations. We made it just at the cut off and she surprisingly told us your table will be ready in 5 minutes if you'd like to go grab a drink at the bar we could come get you. I looked over her shoulder and saw four fully set, empty tables. When I asked her what about those tables she seemed flustered and didn't have an answer. She then said Those tables are set for more than two people, as you can see there is one set for 3 people. I then look to my left and noticed three women waiting for their table even though there was one fully set waiting for them. Service was very slow, when we sat down they had three drink menus on the table but no food menus and it took 10 minutes for someone to bring us menus. We started with the octopus appetizer... it was tasty but the sauce was too sour. They also charge you $32 for one piece of octopus. So with tax and tip $40 for literally one piece! for dinner we both ordered the seafood mix with tuna, scallops and fish. My girlfriend can eat onions, scallions or chives and they brought it out with chives on it. Then they brought it out and it was undercooked as she wanted it well done and they finally got it right on the third time The portions were extremely tiny and even after appetizer 2 entrees and two desserts plus drinks we were still hungry! they don't even put bread on the table! couldn't believe they didn't take my girlfriend's meal off the tab either after they screwed it up three times! many nice restaurants in New York... this is not one of them

IRIS is a gem for a pre-theatre dinner or an ambient dinner with a special date. The pre-theatre menu is a must as it offers an appetizer, an entree, and dessert. The octopus was delicious and the lemon sauce with it was something to brag about. Now on to the Pastitsio. What a revelation! The presentation and the flamed brandy drizzled over was beautiful. The delicious meat and cheese were succulent. The Branzino is a close second. The Baba for desert is a delicious send off and not too sweet. The staff is warm and welcoming. It opens at 4 on Saturdays and the dining room gets full around 5:30. We went at 4. Sometimes lots of people make the food taste a little better so go at 5 and after. Overall, IRIS passes the eye AND taste test with flying colors!

Fantastic approach to very fresh Greek cuisine. Perfect for a appreciator dinner that isn't too heavy

Delicious and fresh food! Great service and attention to detail. The hostess was super kind, which is rare these days. She even remembered the notes in my reservation and gave us a booth and wished me a Happy Birthday!

The location is prime for a night out at the theatre district. The food is remarkable and the service is top notch. The pricing is fair for a restaurant in Manhattan of this caliber so this is overall a good experience.

The food was delicious and service was attenative. Will come again. Also note that they are part of Chase Sapphire tables.

Lovely 3 course “before theater menu” for $60. My only criticism of Iris is noise from the bar area made conversation difficult in dining room. Otherwise, Iris was excellent.

Excellent restaurant with great food and service. Do yourself a favor and try the whipped feta!

My partner thought we had been here before. I'm sure we haven't. I am also sure we will be back. Perhaps because it was a quiet Tuesday, but the service from the welcome inside the front door to the servers and everyone else was top notch. The room itself is large and the tables are not packed together. We were seated in a comfortable raised banquet/booth that sits two very comfortably and, perhaps, can seat four. We had one prix fixe menu ($60) and a couple of alas carte items, because we felt one dessert was more than enough (and it was). We ordered the spiced lamb flatbread and the calamari for appetizers. Both were superb. It was difficult not to devour the lamb quickly. The calamari was deep fried and crunchy, not soggy like so many other places. Mains were the Pastitsio (3 kinds of wild mushrooms, bechamel, flaming greek brandy). The servicer accurately described at a lasagne but vegetarian and with mushrooms. It was topped with crunchy bits of potatoes that went perfectly with the soft texture of the dish. The other entree was the Organic Chicken (yogurt marinade, lemon potatoes, green olive tapenade). The chicken was moist and flavorful. We had the lemon sorbet that came with the prix fixe meal. It was certainly large enough to share, and perfectly refreshing after the meal.

Staff could not have been more helpful when I needed help with a billing issue and the food was fantastic!

Lamp chop was pretty good. Fried calamari and crusted filet recommended by the waiter were salty.

They tried too hard. It felt very inauthentic. The food was okay. The service was great. The ambiance was okay- but the Levelor blinds were bad. So loud. The music was like a dance club but there was no club or dancing going on. So super disappointing.

We loved our dinner. It was our anniversary, and multiple members of the staff wished us a happy anniversary. The cocktails, appetizers, main courses (we got the swordfish and the branzino) were outstanding. We'd love to come back.

Great meal before our show. My lamb chops were cooked perfectly and my wife's shrimp was delicious. Will be going back.
