Everything is good but indoor dining room is way too noisy. There’re people literally shouting in the room. I feel my ears are bleeding when I finally get out the place.

Went to catch up with some family over some light bites after a film screening nearby. Waiter and manager both very friendly; they went above and beyond to help find something my mom (on a very limited diet) could eat. I had the green shakshuka and it was really tasty.

Alert - portion sizes just went down. We order the salmon burger with fries and tofu with squash noodles once a week and noticed major shrinkage today. Fewer fries and less squash. Tofu might have also been smaller. For $23 and $22, respectively, this is a shame.

Not the best, not the worst. Echoing other reviews, the appetizers were quite good. The lamb kefta and grilled halloumi were spot on, although I’m not sure about pairing salty halloumi with sweet grapes. The portions for the main dishes were ridiculously small, however. $24 for a grilled chicken kebab that was one bland skewer? Also, keep in mind they do not do substitutions. I am GF and asked for the couscous to be swapped with another side dish and was told I’d have to pay the full price for a side dish to do so. When I asked if I could just have extra salad instead, the waiter said he’d try but couldn’t promise anything. I understand restaurants are entitled to set their own rules and there are definitely people who go crazy with substitutions, but this lack of accommodation just seemed over the top. Overall, it was a fine dining experience but you could do far better for a similar price in this part of the city.

We had brunch, it was great and they keep the coffee coming which is a huge bonus in my book!

Always delicious, always friendly. Doesn't get really busy until after 11 or so in the weekends, so it's a great place for families in the morning.

JWF sports a creative selection of nicely prepared Mediterranean inspired dishes at good prices. The staff is very attentive and accommodating. If you like garlic, try the roasted head of garlic. It goes well with the grilled haloumi and the chicken meatballs with spaghetti squash. The Carmine St. and the University Place locations hold up well after repeated visits.

This is my second JWF in NYC and I am in love with their concept. The space is wonderful and the service was nice. However, I didn’t have the same excitement as on the first visit and also I think the food was tastier at the JWF Chelsea branch.

Service was very friendly, and the food was pretty good. The prices are on the higher end of what they should be in my opinion, and seating is a little tight.

Everyone I've brought here has asked to go again.
Their yogurt is the best I've ever had. I've brought 2 people here and forced them to try it. Both wanted to order it again the next week! The Mediterranean breakfast is also great.
The inside is loud but the outside seating is calm especially in the morning. They're dog-friendly. Lots of vegetarian options. The cocktails are well crafted. The service is fast and attentive without rushing you.
My only nits: the bottomless drip coffee is watery. I wish they had a stronger/nuttier blend. The rosewater waffle is just a waffle. There's no special waffle taste or anything. I suppose I expected it to be more like a gourmet waffle (crispy on the outside, thick/fluffy inside, with hints of vanilla and another subtle flavor).
Those are just nits though.
Vegetarian options: Zucchini chips, halloumi, salt & pepper eggplant, spiced beet dip, roasted cauliflower, whole roasted garlic, vegetable curry bowl, mustard seed crusted tofu, House salad, kale Greek salad, grapefruit and yogurt, rosewater waffle, green shakshuka, Mediterranean breakfast, poached eggs with roasted tomato and halloumi, Maya's breakfast bowl, grilled eggplant baguette, mashed avocado on seeded bread
