It just wasn’t worth the hype. The biscuits & gravy and shrimp & grits were cold when they came to our table. The ratio of egg to filling in the deviled eggs was off - way too much filling. Our waiter was lovely but the atmosphere was incredibly loud and even though we were at a small table we had to shout at each other to hear. The 1-star rating isn’t because of a terrible experience but it just really wasn’t worth the 40-minute wait or the money.

This was the first time myself and my partner visited this restaurant to visit 2 additional friends for dinner.
Within not even 5min of being seated, a ROACH crawled on our table top followed by another!
The manager on duty was very apologetic and moved us to another table but I had ZERO appetite after that!
If there are 2 roaches that was on our table top, how badly infested is this restaurant?! Is that why it’s VERY dark and dimly lit to hide insects?!
Needless to say for our first visit, it also is our last!

Fried chicken and french toast were not hot and thus not freshly fried /made

They all had a barely warm temperature

Pickles were fun, didn’t order enough food to get a great view. But the stewed okra was awesome!
Decent brunch place but long wait, no Bellinis during brunch hour, and there wasn’t even a mimosa on the menu (though they did make me one upon request). Biscuits were good, esp with the maple butter, but unless you’re a big fan of pickles not sure what the hype is.

Best place for southern comfort food in the city and I always recommend to others!
Unfortunately had a bad experience today - went to catch up with a friend and we were asked to leave our table for another party after just over an hour of being there. Totally understand if there’s a tight turnaround time during busy periods but 1.5 hours is standard, and there should have been a warning before seating us!

Food is delicious & atmosphere was lovely & lively. My only issue is that portions are huge!

*sigh*
Not too sure where to start but the food simply wasn’t tasty. The generous portions are to distract from the lack of flavor and freshness of the food. Gave the place an additional star because our server was kind & replaced the “sausage gravy chicken biscuit” that was gross…but it was replaced by the hot chicken biscuit — that also equally underwhelming and unappetizing. My friend ordered the “Turkey Leg” which was supposed to come with “whipped potatoes”….the potatoes were chunky and stiff. The furthest thing from whipped.
Calling this a “southern restaurant” is a bit of a reach. Maybe “southern inspired” — curb your expectations if you decide to go here!

Food is decent, wish the cheese would have been melted instead of having a cup full of shredded cold cheese on a biscuit.
If you’re unfortunate enough to get a table in the back you will be rubbing chairs with the people in front and behind you. Needs a bit better spacing

It's my first time there and I wasn't sure what to expect. What was shocking was how HUGE their portions are. A dish for one can easily be shared between 2 people. That doesn't mean the food wasn't good. Just really overwhelming. I ordered the Southern BLT. Every part of it was delicious. I just couldn't eat it as a sandwich because it was so tall and fell apart.
For the Apps, we got:
Biscuits & Gravy - A+. Probably my favorite thing that we ordered. The gravy was out of this world. .
Horseradish Cukes - A+. Also really good. I enjoy pickles on my sandwiches and burgers but these are amazing on their own.
Mac & Cheese - B. It was okay. They used penne instead of elbow macaroni which changed the overall taste for me.
For our Entrees, we ordered:
Southern BLT - B+. It was good. I think I would have been able to enjoy it if we didn't have those appetizers. I want to go back and get it again to give it a better chance. After one bite, I was stuffed. It came with cheese grits, which I've never had before so that was a treat. I really enjoyed that.
Honey Chicken & Pickles - B. It was a good sandwich. Another overwhelming one with soooo many pickles on it. But for the most part, it was a solid sandwich.
BBQ Chicken Sandwich - B+. Another solid sandwich.
Drinks were very unique, yet really good. The caramel popcorn old fashioned surprised me! The flavor profile was on point!
I wanna go again when I'm really hungry to get a 5+star.

I had dinner at this restaurant for the first time yesterday. The food was extremely nasty, and the cleanliness of the restaurant was concerning. After I got home, I started throwing up and have been sick all night. I got food poisoning. I wonder if the employees or staff are clean enough to serve this food. I highly don’t recommend this place.
